From what I understand, PLME is for high schoolers like many other combined bs/md (or ba/md) programs. I also beleive that there are more of the bs/md programs in the country than FlexMed or MedStar of StarMed (whatever?) programs designed for the college sophomores.

True, PLME is for incoming Brown freshmen, not for rising sophomores. I just wanted to point out that FlexMed does not stand alone; other programs are also bridging humanities majors into medical school.

Pre-med is not limited to any majors whatsoever. It is up to a student to choose a major while being pre-med. Student does not have to be in any special program to do so. I personally knew people from the selective Conservatory of Music (it is not an example of humanities major, it is just an example of major being anything at all), Latin major, whatever major, Med. Schools do not care. Just get high college GPA, decent MCAT score, ECs, be a reasonable at interview and you are all set, humanities or not.
