High Point vs. Fordham

We live in Derry, NH - my daughter is trying to decide between High Point and Fordham. She really WANTS to go to High Point - beautiful campus, up and coming - but is concerned that it does not have the same name recognition as Fordhan, concerned about where she will be in four years, and the cost is about double at Fordham at the end of the day. Thoughts, advice, suggestions?

Double the cost at Fordham is a big deal. However, Fordham does have the name recognition. S applied to High Point and was accepted, but will be going elsewhere. He loved that it is an up and coming school, but I was concerned they they put too much focus on beautiful buildings and good looking students. You have to decide if Fordham is worth the extra cost.

By the time your D gets out of school High Point will have a lot more name recognition. However at the same time, comparing High Point and Fordham is like comparing oranges and apples. The two schools are completely different. Fordham is in the Bronx while High Point is in a small city.

The academics at High Point are rapidly improving and the professors are top notch.

The cost is obviously a big factor, High Point is competitively priced compared to most other private schools. Is Fordham worth the price tag? Possibly, but considering the cost of High Point, I would take a good look at it.

What is your D’s major?
