High Rise 5

I haven't seen any info posted about High Rise 5? Is it really as terrible as some make it sound?

I was in High Rise 5 way back in the day…

It wasn’t a very social dorm at all – people pretty much kept to their own suites, and there was not much sense of camaraderie among floor members or the dorm as a whole. We had one all-dorm formal dance held in the penthouse, but that was it for dorm parties. And I don’t recall a single room-party the whole time I was there. (Contrast this with Donlon, which seemed like non-stop fun to us.)

That said, I did make some very good friends within my suite and even in two or three other suites. In fact, we all rented a couple of big houses off campus after freshman year and lived together in various groupings until we graduated. There are twelve or thirteen of us who, though scattered across the country, still get together regularly thirty years later.

So, it wasn’t exactly party central, but we did end up with a pretty good bunch of friends.

the problem with high rises is that the RA lives in the middle of the floor (right outside the elevator) and if the RA is a ******bag it’ll suck…

fall semester our RA was cool…spring semester he left and we got a nazi biotch

in high and low rises i would say that you tend to stick with your suitemates (whereas a bigger dorm like donlon would mean you knowing your entire floor).

parties still happen depending on your suitemates. the dorm is pretty much just a pre-gaming spot.
