High SATs VERY low GPA/Rank

Do i have a chance at SFS with a 3.8W (3rd decile), but a 2300+ on SAT?

My ECs are alright. Speech/debate (captain), Mock Trial (captain), JSA (VP), Girl Scouts (Gold Award), etc.

Are u cute? Are u White? Cmon, I need detail, detail.

What do looks have to do with it?

I'm Asian from a competetive public school.

AnaisV,

go to Georgetown and evaluate the chicks. They ask you for ur dimensions on the application and your weight

3.8 W is very low? Ouch. That hurts. I guess I should give up. Haha.

That was weighted.

Coming from my school where it was possible to get a 5.4 GPA ... each school differs. I hear some have weighted GPAs that go up to 7.

whats your uw gpa? and what exactly is third decile (haha)?

My school's GPA only goes to 4.2. :-(

top 30 percent lol.. if your applying to GT you should know that lol

being in the third decile might hurt you. practically every information session i've attended has indicated that a combination of high test scores and low grades is a red flag. They're much more sympathetic to hard workers/poor test takers than highly intelligent kids who don't have the transcript to show for it.

The brochure they gave us at the info session/tour said that 40% of accepted students last year were ranked first, second, or third in their class. Ouch

The Gold Award will help alot
