Hi. Are there any people who have taken all Ap/Honors throughout High School while playing and succeeding in a sport(s) and/or clubs?(I might play basketball or football). If they have, are there any tips to making sure you can maintain a 4.0 while doing good in sports/clubs?

Yup! I play volleyball so considering its during the beginning of the year it was a bit of a struggle. I’m in all honors & 1 AP class but it didn’t bother me much. Although I will say this; after a game or long practice when you are EXHAUSTED , don’t tell yourself " oh ill take a nap" or " oh I’m not in the mood to do my homework now maybe tomorrow" because that’s what I did sometimes considering I was so tired and had no motivation to do anything lol. Basketball at my school is during the month of finals so that’s even worse ( which is why I didn’t do basketball) since its so much stress to study and all of that stuff.

Get ahead of the work the teacher assigns you and take advantage of every opportunity (during school) to get homework done. If you do it right, despite having a multitude of AP classes, you’ll have a bunch of free time for your extracurriculars and social activities with nights that you do not have to worry about homework at all.

The good thing about clubs is that almost all of the activity takes place on the weekends, which leaves you a lot of time to get homework done. If you manage your time correctly, then it should be no problem. However, if you are involved in athletics, especially if practice is a couple hours a day, then it takes a major toll. Many people underestimate how poor they study when physically tired. My recommendation is to always take every moment to do your homework and take a shower to wake yourself up. Train yourself to work hard and to not go to sleep until the work is done, which is a very difficult thing to do. Be careful that you do not overload yourself though because it may not be worth it. Calculate the benefit and costs before joining a sport or club.

Between swimming, cross country and track I’m in season for at least one sport year round. Honestly, if it wasn’t for swimming and running I’d have more free time than I know what to do with, even with 4 APs. If you know how to work smart, not hard, you almost never have to do anything to keep As.
