Hey everyone, ok so i took normal chem in sophomore year in and then chem AP in my junior year in high school but got a D in it..second semester I dropped it. I was wondering if i should take a general chemistry course in a community college to make up for my D in AP chem. After all the community college class comes under college course right?

Suppose you take chemistry in community college and you get a C.

If you are trying to help your college admissions, a community college class with a C in it probably won't help you get into a more selective college.

On the other hand, if you are trying to finish some of distribution requirements before you start college, or you are trying to start college with advanced standing (say coming in with enough credits to be a sophomore or junior before others who started in the fall) then a community college chemistry class with a grade of C might be a good help, especially if the community college and your four-year institution are in the same state and there is an agreement that the community college classes will transfer.

Also, a community college chemistry course designed for non-chemistry majors might well be easier than a good AP chemistry course, which is supposed to be like a college chemistry course for chemistry majors. Look at what kind of community college chemistry class you are considering.
