High School Class of 2013

I mean I COULD. But that would kind of be a waste not to get college credit for a year’s work.

At my school we get mercy college credit at 50$ a piece, so I already have 3 college credits plus whatever I get on the exams

^ Yeah, I get a similar deal but with the University of CT, but for free!. So I think I actually have something like 32 credits after this year. But I’m taking AP exams whenever I can in case I go somewhere that doesn’t accept UConn credit…hem hem Michigan…

Just got a 540 on my first Barron’s practice test for Math 2…I have a month and a half to get to a point where I don’t suck…

@msteiny Heads up, Barrons is harder than the actual test. By a lot. I was getting low 700s on their practice tests and got a 780(770?) on the actual test.

In other news, I’m pretty sure I’ve just about finalized my college list.

Safety: University of Connecticut (EA), University of Vermont(Maybe not), Boston University
Match: University of Michigan (EA), Tufts University, Berkeley
Reach: Johns Hopkins, Dartmouth, MIT (EA), Brown (Maybe not)

MIT, Michigan, and Dartmouth are my top 3.

failed my road test, failed my first math test and broke my phone all within the last two days…what a nice way to start wrapping up the year

You wish your school offered AP Chemistry and Physics? My school offers no AP classes so the only way I can get ahead is by taking the final exams in classes I want to skip and hoping for an A. All studying is on my own time so it’s really hard to do.

I got my NMS letter today  I’m sure that I have no chance of being a semi-finalist, I’ll only be commended, but I chose two colleges anyway on the website so that the colleges think I’m really interested.

Oh I got my letter too! I’m not sure which colleges I’m going to pick though. I think I have a good chance at NMSF. I got one point above last year’s state cut off so im a little nervous.

I finally understand the whole, “Once you step onto the campus, you’ll know” idea. I knew Harvard and Wellesley were the perfect fit for me, and MIT wasn’t, at all. I can’t wait to visit more colleges; it makes the search rather exciting.

Really? I went to GWU for Model UN and it doesn’t really have a campus. It’s just a bunch of buildings in the city. BUT OMG DC IS GORGEOUS I WOULD SO LIVE THERE.

Yeah; visiting the campuses made me realize I want an actual campus. I didn’t dig the urban campuses as much because they seemed a little disjointed. And D.C. is super awesome; I visited American last summer and D.C. blew me away.

I just don’t have time to go visit colleges. Let me get in first and then I’ll worry about it.

Speaking of college visits… I visited Emory yesterday and I’m at Mich right now. This place is freakin huge.

I’m a junior and all I can seem to think about it college! I look up college info everyday, faithfully! I honestly don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing. :(

Oh, and the University of Michigan is my dream school. <3

^ I can see why, this place is awesome!

The people here just radiate school pride, it’s insane!

UoM is on my list. Yea the region Norte Dame/UoM/ and Ohio St. are the most prideful around here.

same here. I don’t want to get all hyped up only to be disappointed later. besides, you look at colleges differently after acceptances

Yeah. I’ve visited Dartmouth, Tufts, and JHU, but idk if I’m going to visit everywhere on my list. I might do Brown since its pretty close…we’ll see. I got my NMSQ letter too, I put JHU and MIT as my two colleges, even though I don’t have definite top choices.

Also, do you guys know if you can apply ED to a school and EA to others? Because I’m thinking of doing Dartmouth ED and then EA at Uconn, Michigan and MIT. Dartmouth is just so selective after a certain point (i.e. 700s in all SAT sections, decent GPA), I definitely need a failsafe.

Still haven’t visited any schools… ^.^
I know for sure I’m visiting MIT this summer though… I’ll probably do Harvard, BC and Northeastern while I’m there ^.^
