I LOVE SHERLOCK. Isn’t season 3 starting soon?

@msteiny - a 720 subject test won’t keep you out of any college in the country.

@retrohippo Not really. It’s not gonna come back until summer 2013, and from then it’ll probably be an even longer wait until it reaches America (but that’s what the internet is for, right? ;))

Also, just looked it up and saw that the season 2 DVD came out on Tuesday… that’s gonna be my next purchase, heh.

Finally stopped being lazy and made my unofficial “college list”. Came up with 25 schools. Now to go visit them and narrow it down to 15ish.

Ooh, a thread for the class of 2013! We’re like the redheaded stepchildren at our school, nice that it’s not the same here. :)

And wow, those new SAT regulations are strict. I know I had to get my school ID and show it with my admission ticket, but it’s kind of crazy to do it between breaks. I mean, our breaks were really low-key, half of the people didn’t leave the room and the rest of us ate snacks just outside the door where she could see us. u_u

Otherwise, not much kickin’. Senior’s last day was today so they sent us to the zoo to stay out of their hair…UMD sent me a postcard with 2012 open house dates but i’ve already visited and really like it (it’s my #1 at this point) so another visit won’t be necessary unless i’m accepted. I need to start re-writing my application essay, but my English teacher has been out all week due to a bad car accident (he’s on the mend, though) ): . Otherwise, going to enjoy what’s left of junior year, apart from studying for finals.

25?? Holy cow… how many you plan on visiting?

Welcome Elleya… glad you’re here.

Those new regulations are strict, so I’m planning on knocking out a great ACT sore, don’t want to take any standardized test again (even though my SAT isn’t so hot)…

I’m not sure, but all of them except for 4 are in the northeast so it will be easy to visit a bunch. The ones not in the northeast I won’t visit unless I get accepted.

Also a few are 100% safeties that I won’t need to visit.

Lol mine is at 15 right now… Although there’s others I want to apply to, but I know that’d make my list wayyyy too long…

(MIT, Harvard, Yale (Lol, a girl can dream), Brown, Cornell, Wesleyan, Williams, Amherst, Georgetown, BC, Northeastern, Fordham, SUNY Bing, SUNY Stony Brook and Drexel)

Others I want to add:

JHU
Carnegie
UPenn
Dartmouth
Wells (as a safety mainly because I just got offered an award by them with a decent amount of merit money…)

you guys are such overachievers lulz… my parents told me my list wasn’t long enough… it was about 7-8 schools, and 2 or 3 safeties thrown in… but none of those were state schools, which I might look at if I don’t get in anywhere for meteorology.

Waah. My list is at like…3. Hard to find affordable direct-entry Nursing schools in southern New England.
Dreaming is okay, though, that’s why my mom and I fight over Simmons every once in a while. c:

Jeez I’d kill to get into any of those schools (except for maybe the last few, those are actually matches on my list). I’m not an overachiever lol. Most of my reaches would be safeties/matches for most CC’ers.

My list is at 7, but I need to add a safety. I want to apply to about 10 schools, and I’m hesitating between five (of which two are safeties).

I love so many schools. Gaahhh.

I love the two safies I got, so I won’t be depressed if I’m not accept into my top top schools (which is about 3). So I think I got 11 on my list.

Mm, now I feel inspired to flesh out my list.

…Tomorrow.

Also, lol, for a crazy moment I was going to post my stats in a chance me thread, then remembered that i’m not a freshman who took the SAT already and got a 2300+ and has a 3.9uw and wants to get into every Ivy and prestigious school ever and I asked myself if there was any point to posting.

/close tab

^Haha exactly.

I think that my “safety” school is actually becoming my dream school.
It’s also my school that’s financially safe.

I think this is good guys. :)

My list is practically non-existent, I have 3 in mind that I for sure will apply to, 1 in the air and 1 super safety.

I feel the same way about mine.
Except i’d consider mine more of a match, because I have this odd mindset that i’m not a shoo-in at any college and i’m on edge about getting in.

But that way, I have no reaches…but also no safeties. My list-making sucks.

Maybe mine borders the safety/match line. Mine is UT Austin. It’s fairly selective, less than half get in. But my grades and ACT scores are above their average, and I’m in state as well.

Besides UT Austin and UMass Amherst (another safety school), most of the colleges are on the border of match and reach. :/
