High School Class of 2013

Ugh, I got a job working at McDonalds last summer, and I quit like a month ago and am taking the summer off to work on my portfolio and essays. Hopefully I will be able to get a job when school starts up again.

I got a job as a mother’s helper a while ago. I hated it. The family was nice, just I never knew when I was working and didn’t have enough hours. I have an interview for a summer internship for a humanitarian clothing brand this week.

I work at Kumon, and I hate it. But I have a really cool paid internship at a soy company, which I like. Also I teach little kids piano, which is always fun. And luckily, all 3 let me take the whole summer off for SIMR. So I’m happy about that. I got lucky on the job front.

i wish i could get a job but i have no time at all and i would only be able to work after 7, and all the college kids already took all of the restaurant jobs nearby. i have no idea how i am going to pay for gas for the summer, or senior year, or ever really. i mean, i teach tennis on saturdays but that just ended since its seasonal so im pretty much gonna be broke for the entire summer

i got a job at a store bagging groceries. trying to find new job

I’m not looking for a job, since I have a lot of things scheduled this summer, and I want any free time I have to start college applications and, you know, have some actual free time.

Lawlz I make time for a job… Because without the money I would be in serious trouble. Having no time for a job is not really an excuse in my family. I wish it wasn’t this way, but it is and I’m happy to do what I can.

My mom would never stand for me having a job anyway, she’d feel it would take away time from my education. :P

I guess it’s not like I’m gonna do nothing but study, even if I didn’t have a job. So at least it’s something productive while I’m not studying/having a life.

@alwaysleah same here…lol.
I really want to try to make my senior year memorable, but I said the same thing about junior year and that DID NOT happen (my own mother encouraged me to get a life).

Wish I could get a job, too. Senior year is expensive!!

if you “wish you could get a job” then get a job… not too complicated.

But yeah, senior year will be expensive. With all the senior activities at my school + college apps, it’s gonna cost a lot.

Oh don’t even begin start talking about the costs. My family is going to be completely broke by December lol .

Speaking of jobs, I just applied to a local Piggly Wiggly last night… I know, I know, probably waaaay to late to be hired, but it was worth a shot and my parents wanted me to xD

^ Good luck, places like that have higher turn over rates so they are always looking for people.

Thanks. I’m honestly not sure whether I want them to hire me or not, haha.

…I honestly though Piggly Wiggly was a joke for tv shows or somehing. I didn’t know it was a real place. Sounds horrible.

^I think Piggly Wigglies are just located in the south, so they are not nationally known like Kroger or Safeway.

But yeah, TV and movies do poke fun at Piggly Wiggly. xD

Kroger? Safeway? I don’t think those are as nationally known as you think they are.

I know both Kroger and safeway.

I imagined piggly wiggly as a chuck e cheese or something.

ditto. Never heard of either.
