High School Class of 2013

Woohoo! Always awesome when the scheduling gods wave their magic wands.

@Pitt; welcome to the fold! I only found this place a few months ago myself. Forget how…

@1Rachel94 oo that’s so cool you can take sociology in your school wish my school did that.

I don’t actually take them at my school. We just are allowed to take classes at the local college in junior and senior year. I actually go to the college to take the classes. They are weighted the same as APs. (GPA wise)

If I didn’t have AP summer work (that I’ve barely started), I’d be so excited for school to start. I think I should get going and maybe finish it early so I can enjoy the last few days of summer. =)

I was going to do dual enrollment…but I went down the AP route. My friend did early enrollment or admissions or whatever you call it :/

Eh, i’m excited for school. As of today, only 3 more weeks! Woo. ~

Job interview went great, hope I get the job. If not, the interviewer said they’d be hiring later this school year if all else fails.

@1Rachel still cool to do :). I don’t believe my school have such a option :frowning: to attend classes at a college.

If my school hadn’t gotten rid of the APs I wanted to take, I probably wouldn’t have done dual enrollment because I’ve been told that it’s really only beneficial if you plan on staying in state. But I don’t really have other options (I don’t really like FLVS and the classes left at my school are all regular ones). Regardless, I’m sure it’ll be awesome =) Plus, all of my safeties accept the credits (none of my reaches do though).

^You still have 3 weeks left of summer? That’s awesome.

Irrelevant, but it is incredibly humid today. It’s literally at 94% humidity (and 95°). Normally it stays around 70%.

It’s also looks amazing out of state as well because it shows your well rounded.
Yuk at the weather. It semi cool in New York.

97% humidity…I win :P

But it’s 74 degress here so I dont know if it still win…

How can you guys deal with those temperatures lol?

^^Really? Cool. My GC always advises against it for students planning on going OOS

That sounds really nice. (I’m in FL) I’m so excited for to go there for college (not necessarily NY, but in the northeast in general; 3 on my list are in NY. Only one is in NC and the rest are north)

If you ever go to college in NYC Yuit will be a life changer. Since I live by the NYC area its always amazing to go to the city whether it’s my billionth team. Just breathtaking. At night OMG even more amazing.

^^It’s partially why I’m not staying in state.

Niquii: Look at the heat index. Here it is 104

@Josiah I go to an outdoor school and whenever I have to step outside I feel like I’m in a sauna. No lie. Everyone is sweaty after staying in the sun for 30 seconds. You can tolerate it if you don’t think about it but you’ll sweat regardless.

EDIT: Oh we’ll then earlier today it was 104 degrees but we just got a huge storm so it’s only 93 now.

Florida is still nice though. I love south beach it’s such a chilled environment there.

That’s why I want to go to university there :)

^2 on my list are in the city (NYU and Pace). 1 is on long island (Adelphi)

I visited the city this summer. It was only for a few hours but it was pretty cool. (We saw the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the 9/11 Memorial; touristy stuff)

Meh, it’s nice in the winter. (It’s 80° in the winter. There are 2-3 days a year where it hits 50. Everyone wears winter coats then.) The really pretty beaches are in the Keys. The beach just kind of loses its appeal (sharks swim within a couple of feet from the shore so you can only really sit on the beach and sweat).

It really depends on the person though. My mom, gets cold in 70° weather (but even she’s began to hate it here). My little sister will stand in the sun on a hot day and say the heat feels good. Me? I avoid going outside in the summer. (I do get exercise by going to the gym though and I get tan during the winter. Luckily, I’ve found friends who feel the same way about the heat.)

@Niquii BEACH BEACH BEACH lol. It’s a great option to have when going to south beach.
@Rachel o that’s great you seen all the sights so next time you go skip al of that and go to fifth ave it’s a experience worth doing.
