<p>If anyone else here can give me some pointers on what I’m doing well/not well that would be great. So I’m a sophomore, and I’ve been on the varsity wrestling team for the past 2 years and plan to continue, and I’ve been on the JV football team for 2 years and will be on varsity starting next year. Music is my big EC. I play in the orchestra and will be in the chamber orchestra next year for the viola. I play the guitar and viola (my main instruments) and the drums. I make my own music and cover music on garage band (not sure how much that helps) and I’ve volunteered at an old age home and played music for them. I’m doing pretty decent in school, a 3.6 GPA unweighted with many AP track courses (I expect to do better next year, as I did better this year than last year). I’m scheduled for 3 AP classes next year and either 4 or 5 senior year. I won’t know my math level 1 scores until saturday (curse you collegeboard!) and I’m taking the chem subject test June 4th. I’m looking ideally at NYU, U Michigan, and Carnegie Mellon as my top 3 choices in order. Am I doing okay or do I need to improve anything?</p>

I’m obviously not the most qualified to tell you how you are doing admissions-wise, but I can tell you this:
Your EC’s look fine and spot on. Just stay committed and all that good stuff.
Music is a big part of my life too! If you can, you should try to get your songs on iTunes so you can make money for your talent. I plan on recording an EP when summer rolls around and putting it on iTunes. As of now, I make like $1 a day off youtube videos by sitting in my room haha. Hmu on PM if you want to collab.
The only thing else I can say is that you should try to bring your GPA up to at least a. 3.7 and strive for that 3.75+; otherwise, it looks good.</p>

<p>My sister’s into that alternative rock stuff. I’m into more of the classics you know, Jimi Hendrix, Zeppelin, the Who, etc. I’ve also been listening to a little eminem recently, but you know still mainly the classics. Now when you make a song, what do you start out with? I like to start out with a nice keyboard line, get the chordal progression going with that, then add some bass and then some drums, and then I’ll pull out the guitar. I’ll do lead with medium treble and bass, but i’ll kick up that middle to like 9. You?</p>

<p>I’d say piano is my main instrument (im asian, after all xd), then guitar, then drums(i play drums in my school band which just so happens to be arguably the best in Jersey)</p>
<p>To be quite honest I’ve never written a song that uses anything but an acoustic guitar + vocals.
But i have recorded just songs and I record the drums first to get the beat, then piano, guitar, then lastly vocals.</p>
<p>Dude, my vocals stink. I can’t hold a tune for my life. I go instrumental and try to get something going kinda like Satriani, or even my favorite song on the planet, Europa by Santana.</p>

<p>But anywho(franklin from my wife and kids if anyone watches), i used to play some satch in my electric guitar days…memories</p>
<p>I watched that show like twice, chuckled a few times but it wasn’t for me. I watch like law and order, bones, etc, espn, comedy central and also 2 and a half men. I don’t care what anyone says about charlie sheen, that show’s hilarious.</p>
<p>My favourite movie is Despicable Me, favourite show is/was Prison Break.</p>

<p>Dude, another weird coincidence, but prison break was my favorite show too! I mean I watched that show religiously until the last season where it just got so bad I couldn’t watch it anymore. I guess we have a lot in common :)</p>
