I’m not looking forward to junior year at all ):

^ Oh wow! I am so jealous that you are fluent in so many languages~ maybe take up Italian this summer, I bet you’ll pick it up really fast. What are you interested in? Russian architecture? German castles? A book you want to read in its native language? :)

^^ I am trying… I emailed the head guy like, 3 days ago but no reply…
I am going to get my license (am 16 though), but I really need a job. :P

I am! It’s really our last year to go before college! (assuming you do ED)

REALLY?!??!
Dude, PROM and no AP Chem…
that makes me insanely happy.

@rayna- did you try Craigslist?

@Mr. Luggs- Care to expound?

@Rayna, yeah I may do Italian. It’d be pretty easy probably, since it’s so similar french and spanish. Though…japanese or mandarin would be pretty awesome to learn too.

@Mrluggs
Why not?
I really do need summer, and I really couldn’t do with a month more of school. But I’m really excited for next year. I’ll be taking 4 AP classes, but I also scheduled in Yearbook, which is a yearlong class, and it’s basically a do-nothing class, so pretty much I’ll just be doing nothing and once a week, you get to go out and eat.

@rayna3
Me toooo, it’s like there’s no point in having my license, when I only have enough money for breakfast and gas. But I’m trying. I got like three applications in places where I have friends working that are putting in a good word for me. I’m just hesitant to call, because I’m kind of nervous, but I’m determined that this coming week I’ma get a job!!

I’m so excited for summer! I am going to continue my internship, go on an archaeological dig every week, AP homework, and get a head start on self studying AP human geography… I also have an internship in albuquerque (which is crazy far from my state)

Wow. That sounds like a lot.

I am also going on a road trip through Utah. Where are you guys going on vacation?

Sent from my iPhone using CC

ooh that sounds like fun ![]()
um… I’m pretty much staying in Cali… which is nice, because I live uber close to the beach! SAT prep 3x a week for thousands of dollars = no leaving
i feel so bad for my parents sometimes.
Though we might be going to NY the week after school ends :D

I feel like I won’t have enough time for myself next year. ![]()
There’s all this pressure to succeed, and I don’t think I’m ready for it.
But we’ll see how things go.
I just need to learn how to manage my time better.

Oh! However, I am looking forward to Prom, driving to school and all the other upperclassmen privileges xD

@bluenotebook: wow. that’s a lot of money. Hopefully it all works out xD I’m just getting the Bluebook. My goal is 2150+

@Mrluggs-
totally understandable
I feel it toooo
my parents don’t really expect much from me. I feel an urge to prove them wrong.
And I KNOW!! It. is. a. ton. of. money. It’s sort of a standard at my school though :\ it’s a CA public high school, but it has an average of, for the past 3 years, 10 kids accepted into Cornell each year, 6 to Dartmouth, 9 to Stanford (14 this year!) etc., etc.
But it’s really really hard to attend because of all the pressure :(

@bluenotebook-
I know exactly how you feel
… I go to top 50 school, and a bunch of kids get accepted to Ivys and other top 20 schools every year. It’s a very competitive environment, but also somewhat stimulating.

Though not intentionally, my parents put a lot of pressure on me. I sometimes put a lot of pressure on myself. I’m somewhat of a perfectionist.

Mhm ![]()
My counselor tells me that I have a great chance, and I highly doubt that, but I often come on CC to see how to improve. A lot of people have been saying “the crop” is somewhat weaker our year, though! Less competition! I really hate competing against my peers :(

^ is that so…?
two of the brightest kids in my high school is in our grade >_>
they’re both home-buddies so probably won’t go far out of state.
I only want to go far out of state. :P

I give myself pressure… xD Sometimes it’s just “I’ll pass and be happy” and the next day I’m like “OOH SHOOT WHY’D I DO THAT I HAVE TO GET AN A+!” The last 2 months of school I missed so much, I was just like “catch up and pass!!!” lol

hahahahha
nice, nice!!
most of the amazing kids in our school are freshman and juniors.

My high school transcript doesn’t shows -'s and +'s, there’s absolutely no ranking, and there are no valedictorians. So god’s grace, I’d really be fine with just straight 92s!

I feel like our class will be more competitive, lol.

Really? How so?

The number of competitive applicants at top schools increases each year! I don’t even want to think about how it’ll be by the time we’re seniors ):
