^^ omg Yale has like one of the greatest Japanese programs ever!!
Yale has this combine East Asian Languages/Lit and Film program I’m really interested in (as a doctorate only though).
I suggest you also check out Stanford and UCLA, they both have just as amazing programs.

I might take a gap year, actually. Depends on what programs I get into when I apply for uni. I’m going for Musical Theatre, which has a 2% acceptance rate all around for the top programs, so depending on my results and scholarships/merit money, I may have to do the process twice to get satisfactory results. But only time will tell.

A gap year seems a little too long for what I’m interested in doing (just little things), I just wish my summer holiday was a month or two longer after graduation! Haha.
It would be nice to have a gap year for:
Getting a job in an English learning camp
Being an English tutor
Travelling (both alone to see friends and with others)
Getting a simple job just like at Starbucks and living with my family… this one came to me recently, I want to get to know my family (esp dad) better? I haven’t lived with him for extended periods of time since I was seven!

Okay my gpa only went up .15 to ~4.15 but my rank went from 21% to 16% O_O I wonder what my rank will be when I am done with junior year and my gpa most likely goes up .4 points xD

@woeishe: seriously? ucla is one of my top american college… and I’m oos… darn T_T that’s a pretty dramatic increase~ keep it up!!

To answer my own question, I wanna go on a gap year (or semester)… I’d probably have to work to save some $$$… then travel around Japan for 3 months (maximum length for a tourist visa). Maybe try to travel around Korea for a long time too~! :P

to what someone said about sophomores being the best class…

i was just talking about this today, I feel like were the most insignifcant class.

theres freshmen its their first year of high school so its big for them
then the junior year is big too because they have prom and thats when the college talk really starts
then the obvious reason for a senior.

^ sophomore is a pretty insignificant year, yes… In some East Asian countries, high school is only for 3 years (equivalent to 10, 11, and 12). So I guess there they don’t have a grade similar to our insignificant year. :P

I got my grade report in the mail today… It’s really funny how all the teachers think I have an “aptitude” for their subject (esp. in math and science)… like once, a teacher said I have a mind for science and mathematics (and I am SUCH a humanities girl lol). xD

^ yes, I got out of school May 25…
do you have/think you have add? you can get medication for that (prescribed by a doctor, of course). I read that medication helps a lot.

I probablly should talk to a doctor about that. But I’m a little afraid because I take two other pills for other things. It could havbe a bad side affect. But thanks next time I see my doctor I will say something.

Oh my goodness your so lucky, classes end June 14th for me. But school is offically over with June 22 or something like that. I have to take 3 regents. I’m stressing so hard. So much pressure is put on us.

^^ no problem! if there are bad side effects, maybe the doses/meds can be adjusted or something. June 14 is soon…! Kind of! =P Keep in mind that you should do your best, and that in 4 years it won’t even matter.

I know~ college will be so amazing!
I am actually kind of seriously considering a gap year. Not because I’m ‘burnt out’, but because it offers opportunities not available in college… :)
