What careers are you guys thinking of? I have two major ones I’m considering, one STEM and one Humanities. (Epidemiology and Curation)

Kinda want to be a photography teacher or a highschool history teacher but I’m not sure

I have no idea, I want to major in anthropology, but there’s not much you can do with that. Working for UNESCO would be really cool…but my parents want me to go to law school.

@chiaa Hmm…well it looks nice if you have taken Bio, Chem, and Physics sometime during high school. I would suggest taking which ever one you’d do best in junior to send those grades in, and then take the harder one senior so if you don’t do as well you might not even have to worry about it as much as you’ll be accepted somewhere by then lol. Are you better at raw math or at using theory and thinking something through? If it’s the first one I would suggest physics, if it’s the second one I would suggest Chem, just make sure to take the other one senior year.

So the gay marriage bill was passed last night in New York! So happy :')
In other news, I just got called back for Spring Awakening (the musical, not the play), so I am ecstatic all around.

@pentupenguin I blow at math all together it’s not a strong subject for me in the slightest bit

@CanadianMTgirl Yeah my friend was freaking out about it being passed or not, then once it was passed she went crazy lol :P. And AWESOME! Congratulations!
=D

So what are everyone’s assigned summer reading books for this year?

Ours are kind of obscure; I don’t know why they don’t just assign classic novels that will show up on the AP test.

For APUSH, we’re doing a project over a book called “Representative Americans: The Colonists”. And for AP English Lang., we’re reading a book called “This Voice in my Heart” which conveniently has gone out of publication. So I’m hoping I can get my hands on a copy.

@hollyandphoenix - For APUSH and AP Art History, we have to do some textbook reading and (a lot of) other work. For AP English Lang, we have to read Cannery Row (Steinbeck) and Zeitoun (Dave Eggers). I’ve never even heard of “This Voice in my Heart”…

I don’t have any assigned books

I have an APUSH assignments and two summer reading projects I haven’t started on D:

i dont have any assigned books either, but this summer I’m going to try reading the classical novels to help prepare me for the SATS.

@chiaa then I think Chemistry might be better, even though there’s lots of math involved it’s not as much as Physics. Both courses are gonna be tough.

I have to read 4 books for AP English. Of Mice and Men, The Narrative Life of Frederick Douglas, and two other ones.

Anyone have any good suggestions for manga or anime? I really liked watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and reading The World God Only Knows. Yeah, both of them are kinda girly but oh well :P

Alrighty thanks (: I’m gonna talk to my mom about it in the morning

Classical novles?

Pentupenguin- That Fredrick Douglass book is really good, I read it independently last year.

Sent from my iPhone using CC

I have to read The Things They Carried for IB English.

arghh haven’t gotten on CC in god-knows-how-long! My whole class has to read Washington Rules, but we don’t have summer reading for AP English [hell yes!] next year.

Middlesex?

I am reading Beowulf and Memoirs of a Geisha for English class this summer.

and about 127,418 other books for fun :P
