High School Class of 2013

My school takes forever to get it back too. My counselor told me the last few years we get it a few days before Christmas.

My school really wants us to do well on finals, so they’ve had them for about a week, but won’t even mail them out until our finals are over (Thursday). I find that a little bit annoying, but I guess it’s good that they’re so concerned with our grades. I thought I got them back earlier last year though. Maybe they send the sophomore ones earlier because their finals don’t count AS much.

my school gives them back on the 20th of December.
and omg this thread is so cool.

uhm my schools:
Reach- Yale
Closer reach- Brown Unniversity, UPenn
Match- Wesleyan, Northwestern, Georgetown
Safe- University of Delaware

But my two top schools out of all of these would probably be Brown and if i don’t get in Wesleyan would be my second choice.

My teacher had the PSAT things laying in his classroom for like a month last year, and we didn’t get them back until like mid-January. I’m hoping this year it’ll be sooon!

New Dream school- Rice

Also, got a 209 on my PSAT, so not a merit scholar :frowning:
77 on Math- Extremely stupid mistake, sad because I can’t brag about a perfect score on that now.
66 in CR and Writing- Both are on the lower end of what I was hoping for, I’m hoping to get both above 700 on the SAT, oh well.

^Why did you switch your dream school?

Probably not a NMS, but there’s still a slim chance (around 5% haha): 205.

Meh. Oh wells. It’s not like it really mattered anyways :D

Well, I decided there is almost no chance at me getting into Stanford, I decided Cornell was too cold, and I decided that Rice was better academically and seemed a lot more fun than Emory.

Schools tied for second = Tufts and Cornell

@CantConcentrate You guys got your scores back?! Unfair! And hopefully the cutoff is low this year. It would help both of us lol

Hoping to be getting into college exactly a year and a day from today. Also, what is the 2013 thread to inactive lol? We should theoretically be the most active. So, how did y’all did on your PSATs? Any NMSFs here? I missed it, got 209 and my state is like 222.

Missed it, got a 200 and the cutoff is 216 lol. My CR actually went down from last year :frowning: Hoping to do better on Jan. SAT.

Didn’t bother with the PSAT, I’m more of an ACT type of guy.

Dang! Where have all the juniors been at! I haven’t seen this thread yellow in awhile!

i need help deciding which book to get for studying for the act. Real ACT or the princeton review. i heard both are very good

i got 211, and my state is crazy-competitive. OH WELL.
@voberaptor, get both?
i bought eight different SAT books. i’m just going to be spending all my winter break studying.

I’m getting super jealous as all of my senior friends are getting into college :frowning: oh well.

Any of you guys applying for summer programs?

I am… and that means I have to “waste” my winter break writing 10 essays…

I am…^ I’ll be writing about 8 essays over break too. -.-

Idk what my dream school is. D: I’ve wanted to go to MIT for a while, but I reallyyy doubt I have even the smallest shot of getting in…

Then again, I guess that’s why it’s a dream school…

Alright, MIT is my dream school…
And Harvard. :P

Go big or go home, right?

I am very cautious about summer programs. Most of them aren’t even run by the host school itself but by “non-profit” organizations. Ugh which ones are legitimately ran by the school itself? All I have so far is UPenn + Wharton summer, and I’ve recently dropped UPenn from my list.

Got my PSAT scores back! I got a 222 but I BOMBED the math section.

I’m apprehensive about summer programs a bit. I thought about TASP but I decided I didn’t want to apply unless I really wanted to go and I don’t know if I do. Now I’m thinking I’ll stay home, keep working for Obama’s 2012 campaign–everyone tells me it’s so exciting to be on a big campaign over the summer and I don’t want to miss out.

I’m also thinking about Girls State. Being a Senate page would be my dream but I’m sure I have no chance.
