High School Class of 2015

Ifax: I’m totally with you on those bands. And I’m pretty sure beatlesdisturbed likes both bands lol.

@ifax, it’s a hard question to answer - hmmmm I think I like last to know, just like you, home, etc. etc. in that band. what are your favs?

got the summer assignment for h. English - Great expectations. And we have to write journals, and essay questions. each 10 chapter has about 8 questions and one journal. I started reading. finished 10 chapters. I like the book, don’t really like the writing part.

My summer assignment for entering 9th grade honors English is to choose two books, and evaluate them. I’m thinking 1984 and the Great Gatsby.

Hey I’m Class of 2015 too,
These are my classes

^^ great gatsby is an awesome book

Really Golfcrew, is it (great gatsby) fun to read?

ya its fun I read it on a school trip and I really liked reading it and it’s my eldest sister’s favorite book

I read Great Expectations and really liked it. I also read A Tale of Two Cities and was so lost!

Ok golfcrew, I’ll read that book this summer after I finish Great expectations.

@shmluza,
I love Home! Probably Animal I Have Become, Riot, I Hate Everything About You, Life Starts Now. Pretty much anything off One-X.

And my friend read the Great Gatsby and he didn’t really like it, but from the my mom described it when I asked her about it, it sounded pretty good. I think I’ll check it out. Anyone on here read Pride and Prejudice? I’m going to read it next, I’ve heard its a good book.

My mom made me read pride and prejudice two years ago. It’s okay but I didn’t really like it. my mom said when she was dating (I assume it’s not my dad! haha, she said she was 18 or something lol) Jane Austin was her best friend and P&P was her favorite book. she said I was too young to understand it. Whatever! :D

Tonight I’ll have my second concert with this semi professional band. It’s been really fun!

'84 and Great Gatsby are terrific books.
I have a playoff game tonight, probably going to pitch.

1984’s too dystopian. Great Gatsby all the way - What an accurate depiction of the Gilded Age.

Preppy: The 1920s was not the gilded age.

Oh golf, I’ve been meaning to ask, what’s your 5k time? Mine’s 24:15, but this is only after 5 runs and I’ve never ran before.

@PoliticalProtege,
I’m running XC next year. This training schedule looks pretty good to me. It’s a little intense, but that’s a good thing, right?
[Summer Training Program to Prepare for Cross-Country - Intermediate | Running Times Magazine](http://runningtimes.com/Article.aspx?ArticleID=5982)

I emailed it to my coach. He told me I was crazy.
You don’t want to run for miles. Run for time. Unless you’ve done cross country before, you should start by building stamina. I just run for an hour each day.

I don’t think I’ve run a 5k. I used to run 2-5 miles a lot but that was before I injured myself so I cant run now. Thats a pretty fast 5k for being a beginner.

@Political, Rothschilds, Astors, Vanderbilts? Yeah I know it ended in 1893, but weren’t the echoes of American upper class opulence still prevalent in the 1920s? And doesn’t The Great Gatsby refer to the soaring economy of the 1920s, somewhat symmetrical to the Gilded age of the late 1800s? I think so.
