^Health and Gym are required at my school.
Who here is doing any campaigning in 2012? I’m looking for opportunities.

ha Political, I heard a dude who just graduated from college became a mayor somewhere. and he ran for that position when he was out from HS but didn’t succeed. You should try that. Give me your real name at the time I’ll vote for you. - Just joking but it’s great you have the ambition! high five.

LOL. Thanks for the info. Where are you from? I’m from the Northeast.

Has anyone else taken the SAT?

Class of 2015!
my freshman schedule:
Algebra II Pre-AP
English I Pre-AP
French I
Journalism I
Digital & Interactive Multimedia (making movies and such)
Bio I Pre-AP
World History Honors
Band (auditions are next week…I would love to make it to the top band, but I’m an incoming freshman…so it’ll be hard)

I’m so bored of middle school, I’m really looking forward to high school next year! I’ll keep playing saxophone, I’d like to do band all four years and then maybe jazz band in junior and senior year. I also want to join the newspaper staff…hence Journalism. And I would love to do four years of French, but we’ll see.

Nope, I didn’t go to CTY last year…this is my first time (so apparently I’m a “squirrel”).

PoliticalProtege–What did you take last year at CTY? I took the SAT too (to qualify for CTY) and I got a 1760 T_T. I was hoping for at least an 1800, but at least I got higher than the avg U.S. college-bound junior :P

my freshman schedule is going to be
English 1
math 4(geometry)
health/ballroom dancing
modern world history
physics
French 2
then I have two free periods and I’m doing golf, basketball, off-campus crew, and I’m deciding between lacrosse and track and field for the spring season

Yes, but I took the/am taking the physical education class during the summer online. It was extremely pointless. EX - please perform 20 pushups. Record your score. Anyways, I understand that taking two languages at once will be somewhat difficult and tedious, but no other elective interested me
so… Might as well.

@iconicsoul, where did u take the P.E class online?

@PoliticalProtege I’ve been doing practice tests and have been averaging between a 2200 to 2300.

I got a 1990 last year and a 2250 this Jan. I may take it again in June.
The practice tests are completely unreliable. Silver Turtle had the best SAT prep sources.

I did Model UN in Bethlehem a couple years ago. IT was awesome.
So, anyone here done the Geography Bee?

Good luck to all of you freshmen I’m graduating high school this year but I never took my freshmen year seriously, which cost me in terms of cumulative GPA and class rank.

@Political, what’s Silver Turtle?

^ He is a celebrity here on CC.

@toxic93, can u link me to his posts?

[thread=955109]SilverTurtle’s guide to the SAT[/thread]

I took the SAT last year, (same time with Silverturtle, that how I “knew” him/her, i assume it’s a him:) ) My math was so low that time it was humiliating! but my CR pulled me up so I qualified for both categories of CTY summer camp. that’s how I did CTY last summer. This spring I took the SAT again, simply to see how my math is. I got 150 increase in math this time! :D

@Political, what is that UN program? It sounds very interesting. you must be very young when you did it. was it fun? What did you do???

The UN program was for rising 6th and 7th graders. We pretended to be members of the Security Council (14 kids) and the top 4 got to be security council members (no USA). I was Russia. We debated legislation, studied world geography, focused on world politics, and took some really awesome personality quizzes (What Historic leader would you be, etc. I got Aung San Suu Kyi and I was psyched). It was amazing.
shmluza, what did you get?

So, does anyone get to take APs next year?
