biology, calc, or chem. i like learning concepts and how they relate to numbers.

i also like english class. i like debating and discussing meanings of works, kind of like socratic method. but i do not like it when we’re forced to give oratories, esp. stupid long poetry we have to memorize.

Hey guys, fellow class of 2016er. I’ve been looking a lot for summer programs but most of them are really expensive. I might just volunteer this summer or see if i could any classes at the community college.

Hey zuminskee, welcome to the thread! I totally get where you’re coming from with the whole summer program thing. I’ve been looking since like November and there are no affordable ones for rising sophomores. And I have no good volunteering opportunities available to me, aside from the library and hospital. Can’t wait to turn 16.

Ohhhh mygawd. It’s been months since I’ve been on this thread T.T I MISS ALL MY FELLOW CC FRESHMEN!! And my favorite subject is biology! Got a 96 on my test on plants, made me excited, because I love plants hahaha

Oh, also, yeah, I’ve been stressing over finding an ideal summer program, but many of them say that you must be at least a rising junior to be eligible, etc. Hopefully I can find a research internship @ my nearby uni I kinda tried in 8th grade, but that was a joke cause I was too young and I had nothing to show people that I might have potential :P

It’s nearly impossible for me to find internships because I’m so not into science. But this lady who’s a psychology professor at my local university has decided to mentor me and so mebbe she can get me an internship within social sciences. AWHH YEAH.

Man, these summer programs are sooo expensive. Most of them are overpriced except for the renowned ones, imo. I’m just going to be interning… doing summer research I wanted to volunteer at a hospital, but it seems like such a commonplace summer extracurricular, you know what I mean?

@TheGreatCatsbyx I think that I’m probably going to end up volunteering at the hospital this summer. I’m a little reluctant to, since like you said, it’s a commonplace summer extracurricular, but I don’t really have any other options so I might as well just try to get some volunteer hours this summer.

Yeah, Im doing the same as Swinter. But honestly, think of everyone who won’t be doing anything at all this summer. We are the ones with the head start. Look at us, we are on a college forum as freshman in high school.

Yeah, Highschooler is right. Being on CC gives me a warped view of high school students. Sometimes I forget that CCers are a very small minority and that I shouldn’t be so worried about not being up to par.
