@Brown Child is that your freshman schedule? Do you know what you might have next year?
Also, at my school I want to start a debate team next year since we don’t have one. Any tips on debate team and how to put one in a competition?

@Brownchild Would you be skipping to calc ab or bc?

@TheBrownChild, I’m basically in the same situation. All I kno is that if I do decide to take Calc, I would take a summer class for pre-calc, or complete a review book. Some people told me its essential while others told me its basically lk Alg2

@zuminskee In that case then you should definitely take Calc next year.

I don’t Excactly know what you guys are talking about, but I’m just saying that according to my friends Pre-Calc is way different and harder than algebra 2

Pre-calc is a lot similar to algebra 2 because you just build on the stuff you learned in alg 2. Some people at my school are allowed to skip it, but it’s only because we have a second pre-calc like class called analysis. I’ve found that pre-calc is harder than alg 2 since my teacher is absolutely horrible. I’m basically self-studying it since I don’t learn anything from the teacher.

@Swinter we have regular chemistry and AP chemistry, but AP chemistry is only offered to juniors and seniors

^is regular chem a prerequisite to AP?

Definitely. AP Chem is very rigorous with honors chem as a prereq.

^yeah, that’s how it is at my school. was just wondering.

I’m applying for a scholarship at this program in Paris. Wish me luck.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using CC

@Swinter yes but I’m taking regular chemistry the summer before i take AP chemistry

^Hm, coolio. :)

Oh my god, so swamped. I have one week left of school. Tomorrow I have a five page essay due (haven’t even started yet) and a test on all of Pride and Prejudice (which I still need to annotate half of; also due tomorrow). Wednesday I have a bio test that was just sprung on me today and a big project that I desperately need to do well on to bring my English grade up to an A (haven’t started that either). Then Thursday I have an exam on WWI and Russian Revolution. Just received the study guide today and I don’t know anything. Sorry for sounding annoying, just felt like venting.

Dang, that sounds like a ton of work!

Has anyone taken the Explore Tests? It’s basically a PSAT version of the ACT. Apparently we’re taking it next week and I didn’t find out until today.

^Yeah, I took the Explore test in eighth grade. Don’t worry, it’s super easy. Literally just eighth grade level. I got a perfect score.
Wow, just realized how braggish that sounded, haha.

What’s the latest you guys have stayed up to do work this year? I did an entire project last night and didn’t go to bed til 12. Took a nap at lunch today haha.

Latest I have stayed up was 1 am. I had robotics until I got dragged home at 11, then I had to finish up a project.

Just found this thread! I graduate in '16 also…any of you already have any colleges in mind?

^Swinter…the latest I’ve ever stayed up for school purposes was 11. I mean, I really don’t think it’s necessary to pull all-nighters just yet because I barely get any homework (I can usually finish it in school…). But sometimes for projects, procrastination gets the best of me.

Well considering i never really go to bed till 11:00/11:30 anyway, I’ve never started up later than that for school

I regularly stay up until 12, not because of school either, I just sleep late.
