High school class of 2016

I wish my school had MUN. It seems so interesting and fun.

@Apollo11 ahh you should plan to go to yale mun then

whenever i go to a college {harvard, in particular} … people always ask me if i’m a student there and question me how did i get into college, etc… I DONT LOOK THAT OLD DO I

@kimm1234 - The conferences/“debates” actually get tedious after awhile, but that’s just my op.

Should I be embarresed if I need to email a teacher for clarification on an assignment.
I just want to be sure I’m not overthinking anything, but I don’t want her to think I’m foolish or something.

I emailed a teacher over the summer about an assignment because I thought I read the instructions wrong because there was so much work and she didn’t reply -__-

But to answer your question, no, as long as its a legitimate question.

lol My school’s MUN is notorious for skipping meetings and partying. The actual activity is never really paid attention to.

^Same…we just go to one conference the entire year. The meetings during the middle of the school year are so superfluous because no one actually goes to them, and prepping for the debate really only takes a week. I don’t know how some schools do this through the entire year.

lol, we usually go to two overnight, 2-3ish day

Did you guys learn anything freshman year that you think you might be able to carry with you throughout life?

How to write resumes/CVs

How to have interviews

I was thinking of something more like a life lesson but that’s good too…

What I learned from freshmen year:

 1. Taking physics makes you apply physics to everything outside school.
 2. I learned how to make ice cream.

Nothing really stands out to me.

Cool story though. This weekend I helped my uncle replace a 1000 pound tractor tire on his '80s Case tractor. pretty heavy stuff though xD

What books did you guys read for class this year? I read The Chosen and Things Fall Apart for summer homework and in class we read Great Expectations, Romeo and Juliet, and some Greek Mythology mostly on the Trojan War.

Romeo and Juliet, the Odyssesy

Romeo and Juliet, The Odyssey, Anthem, Fahrenheit 451, Inherit the Wind, Secret Life of Bees…that’s all I remember off the top of my head.

I loved Anthem.

@TheGreatCatsby NYC is actually about 1 1/2 hours away from my school, so we just take the train to conferences! How much do the hotel fees usually come too…? Must be a lot.

We read Romeo and Juliet, The Odyssey, and 1984.

This year we read To Kill a Mockingbird, Of Mice and Men, and a collection of the Spiderman comic books!
