High school class of 2016

next year i am focusing on developing my interest in science and community service. i found after teaching a group of kids i really liked teaching and educating people… something i wouldnt have known if i only stuck to my academic, research side

that being said, a bunch of my friends and i are going to set up a lab program afterschool for middle school kids, teach them about responsible science {feel so hypocritical… not even i practice it}

and red cross stuff, relay for life, etc

participate more in the instrumental ensemble and maybe get a concerto (GASP?)

plus, one of the teachers at this saturday program recommended i tutor at this sorta ghetto-ish place in chinatown that her nephew from Brown created

^Sounds cool!

Also, what do you do in a red cross club?

what kinda schools are you guys hoping to aim for

I’m probably gonna go to my state school that has good engineering. I have always loved the school, the atmosphere, the athletics, and the academics. Very solid school for undergraduate engineering. I’m not sure where I will go for graduate school though…

slyther - I hope you have a quick recovery!

I’d love to go to Northwestern or Northeastern, but to be realistic I’m probably going to Illinois State or U of I. I don’t know about grad school - I’d love to go out of state, but I know I’d miss Chicago too much.

columbia is my dream school, harvard is the school i have wanted to go ever since i was a kid, but realistically i’d go to BU/BC/NYU… somewhere with an urban campus

I REALLYREALLYREALLY want to go to Stanford. But that’s probably unrealistic. Honestly, I’ll probably just end up at a SUNY or UC school.

Hey guys I’m new around here so I don’t hope you mind if I join the convo…
Our class read the odyssey, romeo and Juliet, their eyes were watching god, the color purple, Fahrenheit 451 and black boy.

lol im at the lab im working at… the guy whos supposed to be teaching me went off to getstarbucks (scientists drink way too much coffee)

I’d want to go to Stanford or Caltech, but I’ll most likely end up at UC’s.

I wanna go to Penn, but I’ll probably end up at ASU.

Anyone know their myers Briggs type? I am an ISTJ. & is it weird that I still don’t have a particular college in mind or a career picked yet? I don’t like it that everyone I know is so sure and I have absolutely no idea.

^Definitely not! We’re only sophomores. Very few people know for sure what they want to be or where they want to go. I know I change my mind a lot. We’ve only been in high school for a year. We have time to figure out our interests and passions. :)

And I’m an INTJ!

Yeah I still can’t decide if I want to go into international relations/law, physics, meteorology or med. Who knows! I guess undecided is an option.

I’m an ESTJ.

I’m always stuck between journalism and psychology. I think psychology is so fascinating but I hear it’s hard to get a job in it. And journalists don’t make much. :|

I just tested and I’m an INTJ, but I don’t really see how that kind of thing even matters.

^It is used to analyze personality and see what type of careers would suit you, etc.

I am an INTP, but my sister is INFJ, which apparently is pretty rare.

Here is the breakdown:

I am an INFJ

great, prof gave me 100+ pages of science papers to read…
