I’m going to volunteer, study, hopefully go to a camp, and I’m going to China!

hey peoples

What kind of camps r u guys going??
I know its kinda early for that, but I was hoping to go to a camp as well. I wonder what kind of free ones are there?

dont think im doing any camps
but good news: i cut my.mile speed down from 15 minutes to 11 minutes, so ill be able to survive freshman gym

Wow that’s really good!

Freshman gym is going to kill me (and my gpa). I will not be able to handle it.

And next summer I’m going to take a ton more online coureses

I cried about my gym grade in seventh grade, it was a whisker away from a B. I happened to get the teacher that was really strict about grades. The other teacher was the nicest, and most easy going teacher. I lucked out near the end when the gym teacher told me to try out for soccer, but ended up injuring myself badly.

i got a B in gym 1st qauarter i didnt like to chamge in public

omg evening swan same!!! except I was a little bit away from an A.

and lol TheAtlantic that’s funnyy
also sad :(

Oh god, I’m terrified for gym this year. I’m seriously out of shape. I’m more afraid of it affecting my GPA than anything. :/

Have you guys changed your schedules at all since you first signed up for your classes?

Lol yeah, that why I got in shape recently. I didn’t want to be that “nerd in gym” you see on tv.

No I haven’t changed my schedule. Orientation is Thursday, school starts next Monday. I’m gonna try to finish my asignments between tomorrow & Wednesday

I’m nervous about gym too! I’m really skinny and weak. Luckily at my school, Wellness/Fitness I alternates between gym and health, so I should be okay.

By the way, do colleges care a lot about gym grades?

Probably as much A’s they care about electives or art or something. But a bad grade will bring down the GPA

The thing is, I’m not unsportsy or anything like that. I absolutely love climbing, except we don’t do that in gym. I play two sports at tournament level. And the only reason I got an A was because I managed to impress the teacher with soccer. I’m just really, really bad at every other sport we play. I would consider myself fit, except my feet are horrible. They ache so often and no doctor wants to tell me what it is.

Yeah I know what you mean. I can play basketball, but I Get hurt playing volleyball/soccer/football/etc.

Wait, you guys have a weighted gym class? (o.o)
Gym and health are both nonweighted at my school, so they don’t affect gpa.

Speaking of gpa, my school is taking ranks off the transcript .-. Instead we get to know our percentages for ranks, 5% being the best we can get. Also, they’re getting rid of advisory time except for on Wednesdays. Also, now every grade has to attend school on the first day, unlike previous years. I don’t like these new policies at all. Just an annoying way to begin the schoolyear.

Side note: For anyone I haven’t met, hi I’m a sophomore. The Class of 2015 thread kind of bores me & I like this thread better. Everyone’s more interesting here, too. :)

No it’s not weighted. But it still counts in the GPA (I believe) Like a normal class would

I doubt that colleges care at all about gym.

And I think it’s good that you don’t have ranks.

Hi collegefountain!

I haven’t changed my schedule either. Next summer I’m probably going to do the same thing as this year… Soccer, sailing, workouts, running, beach, friends, and try to fit in some sleep!

I WANT SCHOOL SO BAADDD. SO MANY NEW PEOPLE AND PLACES AND CLASSES AND AEHEHHAHWJ. My preseason starts September 1st I think, and classes September 6 or 7.
