It’s 6pm.

I have a pipe dream of being a professional mathematician. =))
If that fails (as it surely will, probably tomorrow when I fail my multivariable calculus test), I’ll probably try to become a teacher, though I want to take a bunch of computer science classes in college so I’ll have some kind of boring computer drone job to fall back on if I lose interest in that.

Edit: I have no idea what I’m doing on this thread. I guess I already looked at all the other ones.

@halcyonheather - Get off CC and study!

@halcyonheather You’ll have loads of fun being quantitative analyst at some investment banks, oh just think about all the FUN solving Calculus problems and using statistics to understand data.

^^^

I wanna be a neurosurgeon

Hi

What colleges are you guys looking at/planning to apply to?

@violinvirtuoso3 The Ivy Leagues, Johns Hopkins, MIT, UCs, Stanford, and some safeties in MA…

The UCs…maybe Stanford. That’s about it.

Eighth grader here as well! But I’m class of 2018… Weird. I want to go to Stanford, Cal Tech, or UC Berkley. what do you guys recommend that I do in high school to make sure my college applications look good to elite universities ??

@jninja88 no idea, we are all frosh in HS… Get good grades, be a leader, take hard courses, ECs, and enjoy HS i guess

Find ECs that you’re really passionate about, take lots of AP classes, get good grades, do volunteer work, maybe take college prep courses over the summer, and most importantly have fun!

@halcyonheather

When I read your post, I was immediately afraid of some god-tier high school freshman taking multivariable calculus.

Hey guys look I put up a new blog post: http://cheapeasyfungardening.■■■■■■■■■■■■■/
Yay, free advertising!

I’ll bump this for @ag2024.

Anybody taking or has taken AP exams? How were they? I’m only doing APHG, so I have that Tuesday.

@folkiestcat I’m also only doing APHG, are you in 9th grade too?

@folkiestcat Oh whoops I thought I was posting in the COSMOS 2014 thread. Of course you are in 9th grade.

@dsi411 Yeah, I’m a freshman. I’m a little worried about APHG. I “know” that I’ll do well, but I’m having some test anxiety. It’s just, I don’t know, new? Next year will be great with APWH, AP Euro and AP Psych, all of which seem way more interesting than human geography.

@folkiestcat Yes, for me the multiple choice is really easy but I’m worried about the FRQs. Next year I’m doing AP World, AP English Language, and AP Calc AB (2nd semester).
