High School Class of 2017

Monday is my last day of school!!!

Aw man that sucks, I got out yesterday. But the middle school has half days till the 27th and the elementary school has full days till the 27th also.

@iheartshopping‌
when did you get out? We got out a couple days ago

She said she got out yesterday in her post above. :)

@petitlion haha thanks.

Let’s talk about…idk…math. Math sucks sometimes.

So what is every one gonna work on over the Summer besides summer programs? Personal projects? hanging out with friends? Spending time with your family?

Summer homework, taking care of my brothers, and my summer program.

Not much…volunteering, summer assignments, and resume building.

I’m going to California to be a bridesmaid for my former babysitter next week, so that’ll be fun! Other than that, I’m just volunteering and working on summer assignments also.

I’m working at a daycamp as a CIT

Tomorrow will be my last day of freshman year! I am rather excited about how I did this year in terms of academics but now I’m concerned because I don’t have any definite plans for the summer… I probably should’ve though of that.

Train, train, train. That is my life this summer. Blech.

Anyone sick of summer yet? I actually am. I want Sophomore year to start!

I really can’t wait for sophomore year!

I’ll be working/interning/learning/shadowing a pathologist for a month and just studying for PSATs that will determine my entrance into a 11th and 12th grade prep school

Learning is the best part.

Guys I screwed up this year :/

Full year all honors except gym and computers. Double math and a loaded EC schedule. What do you guys think. These are higher than the majority. Of course there are the seven or eight who get straight As

USH 1 A-
Spanish2 A-
Biology A
Computers A
Gym A
English B+
Geometry A-
Algebra 2 A-

I really don’t get the whole A-, A, A+ thing. At my school, 93-100 is an A. No strange minuses and pluses involved. Do these actually show up on your transcripts and do colleges even care for those that are graded with minuses and pluses?

And I don’t think you screwed up at all, but I go by the “A is an A” system. I cringe at that B only because it seems that so many people on this site have English as their weakest subject and I ADORE English (then again, I had a ridiculously easy teacher this year and in 8th grade, my teacher was AMAZING and ignited this huge passion for English).

Anyways, does anyone else even miss middle school a bit? Or am I in solitude? Eighth grade was my year. :P

Eighth grade was hell me for me.

I find it interesting how there is no uniform grading or GPA system for all schools. A lot of people on CC go by the ten point scale where 90-100 is an A and is basically also a 4.0. Like MissSuzy, we go by a seven point scale where I live and only a 96 or above will earn you a 4.0.

That’s why I love literature. When I’m in my 20s I’m probably gonna be a broke liberal-arts graduate struggling with a cheap version of Finnegans Wake.

And my school grades on the 90-100=4.0 scale, with .25 added for honors and .5 for ap. My gpa is 4.3 weighted but 3.8 unweighted (byebye valedictorianship).

An A- for honors class is a 4.7 weighted 3.7 unweighted. It kills your gpa

Eighth grade was hell as well. And I can’t do anything with reading cause of my minute dyslexia. Only writing. And my teacher was also terrible. Also I wish we went by the ten point system.
