That’s a strange transitioning course into AP, haha. Do you have block scheduling or year-long scheduling? I have block scheduling but harder AP classes like APUSH, AP Chem, AP English Literature, AP Calculus AB (idk why lol) AP Music Theory and AP Biology are year-long. The rest, AP English Language, AP Stats, AP Environmental, AP Government, AP European History, AP Human Geography, AP Psychology, and AP Computer Science, are a semester long. (Preferably Spring semester). I don’t know why I just listed all the AP classes my school offers offers. Lol
My school has year-long schedule with 7 classes a day. For some reason my school is the only school in my county that offers AP Bio and AP Chem as double-period classes. As in, there is no option to take AP Chem as a single period class.
Gah, I can’t wait until high school. I like 8th grade, but jeez. I’m so ready.
I can’t wait for AP Human Geo. This years US history is a joke. I can get As by only paying attention for 5-10 minutes and not studying. I do find the Humanities to be my favorite subject though.
Anyone else read the Economist?
Also, what science class are you guys taking? I’m taking Honors Bio as Biology is required for Freshman. I really was hoping I could take a Physics or Chemistry course but I guess not.
I’ll be in Honors Biology, too. Biology is a 10th grade class, but I’m ahead of my class because I took Earth Science, the freshman science, last semester.
Biology is a sophomore class? So earth science is a freshmen class? In our school Biology is offered in freshmen year and earth science is offered to those who cant handle chemistry or physics.
Yeah, because it has a big EOC, or End-of-Course test that is used for comparisons. Earth Science is really easy, so that’s why it’s for freshman. Biology is for sophomores, and then we must take a physical science course to meet the last science requirement. You could take Physical Science, Physics, or Chemistry.
I’m taking Honors Chem and Honors Bio next year.
I might have manipulated the GCs a bit to get both.
Sometimes you have to mess with people. I’d love to take Honors Chemistry but I signed up for Honors Bio. I’ll probably do AP Bio in 10th and honors chemistry plus honors physics in eleventh. Then, AP Chem in 12th grade.
I’m probably going to do this science sequence:
9th
Honors Bio
Honors Chem
Principles of Engineering (PLTW)
10th
AP Physics (it’s either 1 or 1&2, none of the guidance counselors seem to know which AP test people take at the end of the year -_-)
Aerospace Engineering or Digital Electronics (I will take both courses, but the order depends on what my friends take :P)
11th
DE Physics Mechanics and E&M (semester courses at the community college) (my school doesn’t have AP Physics C)
AP Chem (double period)
Aerospace Engineering or Digital Electronics (PLTW)
12th
DE Organic Chem and Inorganic Chem (semester courses)
AP Bio or DE Physics or nothing
Engineering Design and Development (PLTW)
Well dang. Lol. I’m planning:
9th
Honors Biology
10th
AP Biology
11th
Honors Physics
Honors Chemistry
12th
AP Chemistry
AP Environmental Science
There are only three science AP classes at my school. I want AP Physics lol
At my school you have to take honor or regular bio and chemistry to take AP Biology
@HSTeen what grade are you in?
@IrrationalPepsi I’m a freshmen, what about you?
8th grader, as this is class of 2019
So, how well are y’all doing in your classes? I think I have the 8th grade version of senioritis Lol. I won’t let my grades slip though.
I’m doing well, but I just want this year to be over.
On another note, I’ve noticed that I am shorter than at least 40% of the 6th graders in my school :-S
Omg. Lol. I’m 5’5.5" tall, which actually isn’t too tall at my school. I say I’m taller than 60% of the student population lol. 8th grade is super easy, especially math. Lol, it’s like kindergarten math to me. Math I (essentially Algebra I) is like first grade lol. Math is really easy lol.
I’m 5’1.5"
so… yeah
sigh
Omg. It’s okay. There’s some 8th graders that height at my school too. What gender are you? Jw
