@raventhemage That would be great. I honestly have no idea how to pm though.
I got a 43/45 on my gatsby/ writing quiz. I know it might not seem like a good grade to people on CC, but English is my hardest subject so it’s an accomplishment for me. :))
@stanford200381 Congratulations! Personal accomplishments are always something to be celebrated. I have sent you a rather huge pm about Science Olympiad, and you can see it if you click on the box to the right of the world globe on the top right corner of CC, it should have a little red 1 on it, saying you have a new message.
I feel really good about high school right now, and I am HYPE FOR HIGH SCHOOL! It’s not as bad as I thought it would be, and SCIENCE OLYMPIAD is so exciting!
My first quarter is officially over! My grades are-
English 9- 94
Spanish 2- 97
Algebra 2 Advanced- 108
Environmental Science- 100
Theatre Arts- 97
Biology 1- 94
My mom told me to get all 100s and above second quarter so I could get in the top 2. I took her offer of ice cream as incentive, but I’m not sure if I can do that…
@CavsFan2003 Good job! We still have four weeks but my lowest grade is a 91.74, and after the test we took today hopefully a 94 or up.
@stanford200381 Thank you! I have faith that you’ll get it up
@CavsFan2003 thank you!
Is anyone going to homecoming? Today is my homecoming, and I’m up at 7am to get my nails done. :((
We already had homecoming, but we don’t have a dance. I was going to go to the game but my mom gave me $20 and chicken to not go so I didn’t.
I got a 96/100 on my science test so I now have a 93.67 in the class! Now I need to get it up to a 94 or 95 in the next four weeks. Going to be hard because I miss points for careless mistakes a lot.
Quarter ends this Friday.
DE Precalc - 98
English H - 99
Chinese II - 102
Chemistry H - 96 (god I hate her so much)
AP World - 98
Choir - 100
Other stuff: first speech competition next weekend, first MUN conference the wknd after, part two of Allstate choral auditions next week (freakin’ rocked the first part bc I can actually sightread now), B boat in crew but smh I kinda expected that, Mu Alpha Theta and Scioly going well, etc. Decent first qtr all in all.
I’m so mad right now! I’ve only missed 4.5 points in Algebra so far, but since he weights grades I have a 94 in the class. I hate portfolios and he puts them under the heightest weight which is really annoying! Good thing we have a test Friday that I should get an A on, so I should have a 96 or 97 again. I won’t even be at school Friday so looks like I’ll have a 94 until Tuesday.
I took the test early, but only got a 60/64. Probably should’ve waited until Monday because I didn’t get time to look over notes and review, but oh well! I have a 94.88 in Algebra though which kind of sucks. I’m still really proud of my grades since my lowest grades are a 94 in algebra, science, and AP computer science. I still have 3 weeks to bring up my grades, so hopefully by the end of a next week after our science quiz over elements I have a 95 in science and maybe algebra if we have a quiz.
I currently have 100s in everything…but most of my classes have only had homework assignments that’ve been worth points, but I did get 100% on my Spanish oral, and the first Chem test of the year. I am ROCKING Science Olympiad, and have the top scores out of all the freshman (and I do 4 events!) Science Olympiad meets everyday for 3 hours…so that’s very time-consuming, but we aren’t a top team for nothing. My chance to make the team this year has been upped from .01% to a 1%
I’ve also joined WAY too many clubs, and the club meetings are constantly interfering with each other. I’ve already quit the literary magazine, UNICEF club, and book club to make way for all the others I’m doing.
I have a premonition that this will be a long, but exciting year filled with late nights and (too much!) work.
@raventhemage Wow good job! Unfortunately my school won’t allow me to start a Science Olympiad team, but hopefully next year :((
I was going to join my schools health club, but it’s already October and there have been no announcements about it so I think it’s no longer a club. Now I only have 3 clubs which sucks because I would have joined speech and debate if I knew this! I feel like I don’t have enough science and medical extracurriculars, all I have is hospital volunteering. Next year I plan on starting to shadow a physician and find a professor to do research with, so I guess I’ll be okay. I’m also going to a medical summer program next summer so that should help.
My grades are pretty good so far, 94’s and up. I have a essay over the great gatsby that’s worth 140 points. Let’s hope I get an A or my English grade is going to drop drastically.
Well my 94 in AP computer science dropped to a 92 so I’m kind of disappointed, especially since there’s only two weeks left to bring it up.
Aww, you freshies! Don’t stress out about grades, but do your work, and turn things in, and study! You don’t want to mess your year up, or you will be in slower classes, and it will be hard to get out of them!
^ That’s kinda condescending…
Anyway, our first quarter is over and that means class ranks are coming out soon. I hope I’m top 5, but that is unlikely, so I’ll probably be top 10.
My grades are:
English 9- 96
Spanish 2- 98
Algebra 2 Advanced- 106
Environmental Science- 98
Theatre Arts- 98
Biology 1- 94
I passed with all As! I am very excited. I really hope I’m top 5. I think I’ll find out in a few days.
@CavsFan2003 With grades like those I’m sure you will be! My school doesn’t rank.
I’ll update my grades In a few weeks since the quarter is over next Friday. 30 point science quiz tomorrow. I had a 60 point french quiz today which I’m pretty confident about, except for the extended response part. Thursday I have another french quiz, next week a Algebra team test, science chapter test, 100 point french project, and a end of 9 weeks exam in English. My Gatsby paper is also due this Friday, these last two weeks are going to be pretty stressful! I also fell on my knee, and now it hurts so definitely not the best week.
Just got back from my first MUN conference!! Was super fun; didn’t win an award but the dais in her feedback told me i had some of the best research and speeches in our committee (just gotta work on my public speaking skills lmao) so that was pretty rad. Our school won Best Delegation, which was also rad. Was the only girl in a van of 9 guys (my boyfriend + some other guys I’m friends w/) but apparently the girls were so catty with each other that I think it’s the reason why I had such a good time. Can’t wait for the next one - I think I have an okay chance of winning at least Honorable Mention, now that I know what I’m supposed to be doing going into it
We got some of our standardized test scores back from the end of last year. I got advanced in English, but proficient (basically average) in science. It may seem bad, but I hate earth science and I missed a lot of school when we learned about it, so I got below average on it. I got advanced on physical science and life science, but that below average killed me. :(( I didn’t get my math score back yet.
Friday was the end of the grading period! Grades aren’t due until Tuesday at midnight, so not all my grades are up to date yet. I’ll post them Wednesday, but everyone in my English class is freaking out about our 140 point English essay. A lot of people have low B’s-low A’s in her class, so they need to do good to get an A or keep an A. I currently have a 96.71 In her class, and my friend has a 95 something (pretty sure these are the highest grades in her 5th period class), so we aren’t even stressed because we can get F’s on the essay and still have an A! Obviously my goal isn’t getting an F, but lots of people are getting C’s. I’m hoping for a B, I don’t know we will see…
