ugh...I would hate to be a guidance counselor. Your whole life revolves around the one of the most annoying biased things ever...sorry for the drama

My counselor is really nice, but our school's system is stupid; you get a different counselor for each grade, so suddenly senior year a woman who barely knows us (only knows me from nmsf) has to write 185 letters of recommendation...
She told me she was surprised I was right on track, already having chosen colleges to apply to...I was like, um, it would be difficult to apply EA and write all the essays before november at the same time as taking hard classes and sports every day...good thing I've at least chosen where I'm applying
lol

I wish my school would switch GC. I'll never be able to get a decent recomendation out of her.

My GC sticks loads of kids who have never taken honors classes into APs because it apparently makes the school a higher rank nationally. (stupid idea) I usually go to my College Counselor because she knows me much better and does not have to put up with several hundred kids wanting to talk to her each day.

I used to have a pretty cool one but the one here is always so high-strung and talks about how she's always so busy and how students don't realize it so she's a [female dog] most of the time.

Annoying, but she gets the job done. I just hope she can write a good letter of recommendation (the counselor part of the application).

Like sberlin, our school has the stupid system of changing our system every year, but I talked to my current counselor about that, who was also my 9th grade counselor and really likes me, and she said that she could do my recommendation when it gets time for me to start applying to colleges, since when I go to 12th grade, the counselor won't know me that well.
I like my counselor and she likes me. She's very nice and if you expalin a problem to her, she'll deal with it, as long as you give her the full details, which I don't see as a problem.
