I'm a rising junior, and I'll be in the IB Diploma Program next year. My IB classes are:

English A1 HL
French A1 HL
Philosophy SL
Biology HL
Math SL
Chemistry SL
Theory of Knowledge

I have room left for one non-IB class, and I'm choosing between Spanish III and physics. I'm completely torn between the two, because I love languages just as much as I love math/science classes.

Here's some extra information:

With the IB classes I chose, I'm already going to have a total of four math/science classes (IB math SL at my school is divided into two classes).

I'm fluent in English, French, and Croatian, and I have a general knowledge of American Sign Language and Spanish.

So, in terms of college admissions, what effect do you think my choice will have?

I'm not a math/science-y person, so I'm not sure, but I think some math/science-y schools want to see that you've taken physics. I don't know what sort of schools you're interested in or whether you could take physics next year, but I'd see what other CC people say about this and look on the websites of some schools you're interested in (if you have any right now)--college board might work too, but I'm not sure.

i agree with upsilamba -- if youre going into a math/science school go for physics, if not, its a toss up -- flip a coin -- you already have 2 language and 2 science classes so it doesn't matter much at that point

If you are thinking about engineering at all--physics will be more valuable than chemistry or biology. In fact, many of the more progressive high schools are introducing physics before any of the other sciences because a basic understanding of it seems to help in all of the other high school courses.
