High School Courses

Hello guys, currently a freshman and already chose my courses for next (sophomore year). I want to plan ahead a little bit and share my current high school plan with you guys. Side notes: Tennis Varsity every year (that’s why I list only 7 every year) and AP courses receive 5.0 weighted out of 4.0 on-level, PAP receive 4.5 weighted out of 4.0 on-level.

Any suggestions, tips, advice, etc.? I know this is wayyyyy too early, but whatever.

Current schedule?

@ab2002

  • AP Human Geography
  • Pre-AP Biology
  • Pre-AP Geometry
  • Pre-AP Spanish II
  • Pre-AP Art I
  • Pre-AP English I
  • On Level Medical Terminology
  • Varsity Tennis Fall/Spring

Remove AP Bio from sophomore year unless it’s typical for a sophomore at your school and take AP art history, AP world, and Principles of health science OR Pap a&p.
Junior year take AP physics 1 OR 2, AP Bio, remove pap a&p and take an easy class (perhaps financial literacy? Or another art class to show continuity as long as it’s easy)
Senior year tie honors English+ AP Euro OR AP English literature + honors social science. Drop Physics C (meant for engineers, will NOT be useful for premed - if you really really want a physics class take either AP physics 1or 1 depending on what you took Junior year as it’ll be more useful for a premed).

Thank you for your great advice!!

AP Bio is typical for a sophomore in my school (it’s listed as 10-12) but not many people take it. This year only 115 spots were open, and barely half of those filled up.

I think I will take out AP art history and keep AP bio, and so I have a manageable amount of APs for a sophomore (2) and also principles of health science. Also, a&p is not offered at our school for sophomores (pre-reqs are biology and chemistry, so only upperclassmen can take it).

I see what you’re saying there, but in my school, financial literacy is a unweighted class and I don’t want to drop my GPA.

I was planning on doing that, since I don’t want to compromise my AP Euro class, but unfortunately in our school there is only a regular (unweighted) and an AP English.
