High School credit

I was just wondering...I've taken classes at the high school in middle school.
Math for example - Geometry and Algebra II in middle school

Am I supposed to get high school credit for them?

ya, naturally you will not need to take those classes again. i know of a sophomore who took honors geometry his 7th grade year, honors precalc 8th grade year (i know, he skipped algebra ii) and took ap calc bc his freshman year. sick kid

so what do you plan to take instead of math courses during those school periods?

Wow smart kid.
Well, I still plan on taking math 4 years.
I just wanted to know if those courses I took in middle school counts toward my credit count in high school

Hey polter93157, that kid is incredible. Do you know what math he's taking now?

Yes, you will receive credits for your eight-grade math, but not the seventh-grade math.

It depends on what math you take and if the course is certified.
I got high school credit for my 7th grade math course: Algebra, but no credit for my Geometry class in 8th. My high school said that the Geometry class wasn't certified or something and they wouldn't let a freshman take Alg . II. :P

Glass.. it depends on your high school. my friend took honors algebra 2 as a freshy, and got her credits for geometry (8th grade).

you serious about not getting credit.. i got credit for the spanish 1&2 and also the alg and geom in ms, i would ask your giudance counseler if she can check your transcript if they got on

you will get high school credit for high school math (and foreign language) classes taken in middle school. However, if your school district or state require a certain number of years of math in high school order to graduate, rather than specific courses, the middle school math courses may or may not count towards that. You could end up maxing out your high school and still needing more years of math. Check with your counselor.

I wouldn't expect your school to give you credit for these courses, but I also wouldn't expect them to make you take those courses again.

Anyway, it's completely school or district-specific, so CC people can only speculate. Ask your GC.

I know my middle school gave HS credit for taking algebra...I suck at math so I didn't take that in ms but i am pretty sure they gave hs credit. I do know, that from taking college courses in HS i have received college credit, so I would assume it works the same.

I asked today and they said I did get credit.
Well, I guess its different from district to district, cause last two districts I went to didn't accept them as credit because I took it in middle school.
