I'm a senior right now and I might get suspended for something (1-3 days ISS I'm estimating) that occurred today. Now it's not guaranteed but if I do get suspended, how much will it impact my chances of getting into college?

And does your high school send a copy of your disciplinary record to the colleges that you're applying to?

Do colleges check this kind of stuff? Especially if I leave that particular field blank?

It's for harassment btw.

I know my high school takes these things very very seriously and is always threatening us with “We will send your records to colleges and then you’ll never get anywhere in life!”

Having said that, I doubt your administration is as anal as mine. My advice would be to try to talk your way out of it (has always worked for me) and if that doesn’t work, don’t let it bring you down, because there’s nothing you can do about it

Best of luck

^Dunno, mine sounds the same as yours, so it’s very possible that Tsunamij’s is like that as well. I know kids who have been suspended and done fine though. I think it depends more on the college’s policy than your high school’s. Look up the suspension policy on the colleges you’re considering. Most I know of care at least a bit, but some might ignore it more than others.

And dude, what’d ya do?

Most of the time if its not THAT serious, the college will simple ask you to explain what happened and what you learned from it -_-
