Which High School courses/Electives best lead to career in business/finance ? Not engineering.
Depending on what your school offers there are some electives that are useful. Start by looking through your program of studies to see what your school offers. If you have access to dual enrollment classes there may be some if you meet prerequisites Some classes good for potential business majors are:
economics (macro and micro)
stats
accounting
personal finance
intro to business
business law
corporate finance
stocks and bonds
taxes
entrepeneurship
You can actually look at college board for this type of question. They recommend taking Marco and Micro Economics, as well as Calculus BC for finance. You can also look up what classes a finance major would take to a school your interested in by doing a quick google search.
Each high school will have their own electives (I have seen ones with accounting, int’l business, etc.) But, for AP courses, I would recommend AP Macro and Micro as well as AP Calc AB/BC, maybe AP Stat as well. Basically, business majors want to have a strong foundation in math.
