Where do I begin? I am really interested in becoming an engineering major specifically biomedical engineering. I'm a junior right now and I would really like to shadow or be an intern for an engineering facility. What do I do dirt and are there any places that would even want an unpaid high school engineer??

Anybody???

I’m sure there are some places that would let you shadow. Just find local engineering firms and call them, it’s as simple as that.

Internships.com is a really good place to look for opportunities. BUT you must let them know, in your resume, that you are still in high school. If you have an impressive resume, they may be interested in seeing what you can do for their company.

I am a high school student, and I got call-backs for about 5 positions as an intern at several large marketing firms. But I am also a part-time student at my local community college, so im not sure if that was the reason why they still contacted me.

Good Luck! :)

and if you are not able to find anything on that website, maybe you can go through a local directory of engineering facilities, and contact them individually to see if they would allow you to intern for them.

Thanks for the answers! I’ll probably start calling but I might just wait till next summer (junior/senior) because I’ll have more time in my schedule.
