What are you interested in? You should do stuff that make your interests stand out

Well, I was thinking about starting some sort of Pre-Med Club at school.
Is that what HOSA is?

I agree with 1Rachel94 do what you like. Also try and do some leadership, look into programs you have to be accepted into (if you are Jewish I recommend the program Diller)/board positions you can run for. Also depending where you want to go keep in mind you want something that not every person who applies to college will have.

What would be a good EC that is medical related?

At my school there isn’t really a medical-related club. I really don’t know one off the top of my head. the EC doesn’t necessarily have to be medically related, you should try to run for an office position.

You could try volunteering at the hospital or joining (or creating) a medical-related club at your school. Maybe join a science league or do some independent research? There are a lot of things to try.

This isn’t medical related, but one of the most rewarding ECs is mock trial. It isn’t only for lawyers, as most of the people on my team don’t plan on being lawyers. You get a ton of public speaking, reason and logic, and teamwork experience. Also, it’s so much fun! I will warn you now, a good mock trial program can be even more time consuming than your hardest class. Completely worth it though!

My school doesnt have a chapter for the Science National Honor Society, so I was thinking of starting it. Is that a good idea?

yep. why wouldn’t it be?

It’ll be cool if our school had a Science Honors Society, but the weird thing is that our Biology teacher is the adviser for the regular National Honors Society…

I don’t think that’s weird. Our old director of NHS was the chemistry teacher and now it’s the physics teacher.

^ I know… but I really want a SNHS lol, I don’t why she couldn’t do it. Ah well, I guess I have to convince my old Chemistry teacher now.

Hurry and ask while they’re still there! Sadly our chemistry teacher is leaving next year, our Calc teacher just left this year, and last year we lost 5 of our best teachers. We’re having a serious brain drain at our school right now and the clubs are getting hit hard.

I LOVE MOCK TRAIL.

I do mock trail, Youth and Government (judicial) and model Un and I honestly wish there were more clubs like that I love the public speaking and helping with my confidence
I’m learning to be a better speaker which is great- id love to be a lawyer
I also do marching band and track which I do for my parents and siblings mostly.
And the equestrian team (omg horses) as well as Njhs
I’d recommend any of them at all if offered. Good luck. And it doesn’t have to be related to your career what are you interested in for fun?

Cool thanks guys
