High School Freshman

Hello-
My main question is what I should be doing as a freshman if I want to go to a top Universitie. The classes I'm taking are
-Honors Physics
-Varsity Color Guard (this counts as PE visual arts, and it is my 3rd year on the varsity team)
-Honors French I
-Honors Latin I
-Honors English
-Honors Alg. II

I took the SAT's in 8th grade to apply for a program. I didn’t score very high but I did okay, I got; 480 reading, 490 writing, and 570 math.

I joined a few clubs, Best Buddies (you befriend disabled students), Junior Statesmen of America, and I’m trying to get on the Academic Decathlon team. Do you think I'm on the right path? Is there anything additionally I should be doing? Thank you for reading this

You should be enjoying yourself and pursuing your own passions, not spending four years of your life trying to impress colleges. Those years are important as any other; no college is worth sacrificing them.

wait about 3 more years, then ask this question again.

Do stuff that you enjoy doing. Seriously. That's the key to getting into the colleges you want. Do what you love doing, but don't make your academics suffer because of it. It's the The Way. Really. High school is just as precious as college. Use your time wisely.

Yes, do what you enjoy doing. Take the most challenging courses available to you and do your very best in them. That's the whole ticket.

Try to pick 2 or 3 clubs and stay involved in them all four years of high school.

come back when you're a junior
