High school GPA - international student

Hey! I'm not sure where exactly I should be posting this topic, but oh well.

I'm from Bulgaria and I just got another B for the the first term of the school year, so to say my spirits are low is an understatement. I know that after you look at my grades you'll be like, why is she even complaining? But I was seriously aiming for the perfect A grade.

I just need a way to calculate my grades into GPA. How do I do that? What's the different between weighted and unweighted?

Do I get my average grade from the 9th, 10th and 11th grade, sum them and then divide by three (because it's 3 grades?)

Or do I get my grade point average for every class for every year, sum the grades and divide by the number of years I've taken the course, and then when I've done this for all that classes, sum it and divide by the number of overall classes? I'm confused!

(Don't ask me if both are the same, I have no idea.)

Bulgaria works with a system from 2 to 6, where 6 is highest and 2 is lowest. If someone could actually calculate this for me, I would really appreciate it. Even if not, if you could just please tell me how to do it myself I would love you forever.

If this matters - we don't have any AP /honors classes.

9th, 10th, 11th [Class]
6, 6, 6, Bulgarian language & literature
6, 6, 6, English
6, 6, 6, German
6, 6, 6, Maths
6, 6, 6, Chemistry
6, 6, 6, Biology
6, 6, 6, Geography
6, 6, 6, History
5, 5, none because a doctor told me not to play Phys. Ed.
6, 6, 6, Law, Ethics, Psychology, philosophy etc
5, 6, - Computer programming
6, 6, - I.T

Basically, 6 = A, 5 = B.

Where I'm still not sure about my 11th grade grades, so yeah :| I may get a B or two, but I'll try not to worry about that.

So... anyone? :/

Why do you need to calculate a GPA?

My school counselor advised me to do it… Something about knowing where I stand when I compare myself to American highschoolers, lol.

Plus I’m going to need it sooner or later for my applications, no?

I’m pretty sure international applicants don’t need to calculate a GPA themselves, as different countries have very different grading systems and educational systems generally. I guess it will give you some sort of an idea, but you can see from your grades that they are very good, a GPA won’t enlighten you much more.
I believe the point of it is just an average of all grades, all years. Unweighted is when all classes are on the same scale, weighted would mean that an A in a harder class would be higher than an A in an easier class. I’m not the best person to help you with this though :)
