Hey guys I have a question about high school gpa. I know that the UCs are a different stiuation but I was wondering if the grades I earn the first semester of senior year will be incorporated in my h.s gpa before I apply to schools? Thanks.

Unlikely.

The purpose of the mid-year report that your high school will send to the colleges that you apply to will be to report those first-semester grades. I guess some colleges might recalculate your GPA once they receive those grades, but I can’t see much added value in doing that.

My kids’ high school computes GPAs at the end of junior year, and uses those GPAs to send to colleges, to report class rank, etc.

But since this is a matter of your high school’s policy, the people who can give you a definitive answer are there, not here on CC.

If you are asking specifically about University of California freshman admissions GPA, then see this:

[University of California - Calculating GPA](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/counselors/q-and-a/calculating-gpa/index.html)

Note, however, that admissions offers are likely to be conditional on maintaining a specified level of academic performance in senior year.
