<p>I was wondering if and how CCNY weights your high school GPA. Do they give any extra points for honors and AP classes?</p>

<p>Thank you for interest in the City College of New York.</p>

<p>Your overall high school grade point average is a prime factor in the consideration for admission at CCNY. For the most part, honors and AP courses do not factor much in the admissions decision. However, certain limited programs that require a more comprehensive review (i.e. honors, biomedical education, engineering) do take them into account. Also, they can improve your chances of being awarded a merit based scholarship.</p>

<p>Thank you so much. I was also wondering if CCNY accepted ACT scores and if the writing section is required.</p>

<p>We do also accept ACT scores, but we do not require the writing portion. That also goes for the SAT exams where we only consider the Critical Reading and Math.</p>

<p>Hi I am very interested in CCNY and was wondering what the average GPA was to get in along with SAT and ACT score? And I am also out of state so not sure if that sways a decision</p>

<p>Out of state is a bit rough. CUNY are mainly serving local students so if you are out of state, low GPA and low SATs could harm your chance of getting into city college.

<p>Collgeboard will have the sat and gpas. But roughly 80+ and 1100+ (math and english) should be enough to get you into city college.</p>

<p>mmm my gpa is 3.39/3.4 colleges weigh it higher because i come from a tough school my sat is 550 each and 25 act i took 6 honors and im in 2 APs i saw that CCNY avg gpa was a 3.1 though and avg Sat was 1500 ish</p>

<p>i do use collegeboard, but i hear so many different things that im confused about it =/ i hear it was selective, like hunter college, but college board says majority of the kids have 2.99 gpa</p>
