High School GPA's

Do high schools ever post what GPA is required to be in the top 7%? I’m just trying to get an idea of what GPA a student needs in a competitive school in Texas such as Plano, Southlake, Katy etc.

At a very competitive hs my daughter is just barely top 7% with a weighted average of 98.7. Something to be aware of–a gpa that’s top 7% in your early years of hs may not be high enough later on because of drop outs at the low end.

@basil1 You can go to the web site of any of the high schools you listed in your post and check out their student Profile. That always tells you what is the cut off for the top 10% students. E.g. At Southlake where my son goes the Top 10% cut off at the end of Junior year was 98.9 (weighted). Top 7% would to around 100. Southlake only reports weighted score out of 100.

Dont know about other highschool or privates, but unweighted my gpa is 103 and im top 9%. Out of ~560 students.

Thanks for your help!
