High school grades mattering for transfers

Hey everyone, I was curious how heavily high school grades weigh into decisions at top 50 schools for some one with 1.5 yrs of college when applying

For instance I got a 2.0 in high school
I have a 3.73 in community college with 50 credits at time of applying.

I know that every college has different admission criterion but does anyone know how much they generally weigh high school grades?

Would my 2.0 high school grade harshly affect my chances, or would it look a bit positive as a sharp increase trend in my grades?

Thanks!

Anyone know?

Depends on the school…but for the most part, colleges want to see College work. The farther away you are from High School, the less the grades matter. Based on the number of credits you have, i assume your a sophomore looking to transfer as a junior, so it should matter very little. It does help, as you suggested to have an upward trend

It depends on the school. The more selective the school, the more likely they will look at your high school records to make a decision.

Iv been told from some colleges that they only look at high school records to make sure its been completed, and Iv seen on other colleges websites that they do look at them for selection. So best thing to do is email the intended school, and ask.

In general, I think HS grades wont mater to most schools. You have a good gpa, with a good amount of credits at college level.
