Alright, so I want to major in engineering, but during my freshman and sophomore year I had 3 C's in math and science classes. I was not as mature or motivated then and I straightened myself out my junior year (I am currently a junior). Two out of three were honors courses. Here are my following math and science grades, overall grades for freshman through junior year (first semester) and SAT's.

Freshman - 86 weighted (3.1):
-Honors Geometry - C-
-Honors Biology - C

Sophomore - 87 weighted (3.2):
-PST (still above average math class, but does not have honors weighting) - C
-Honors Chem - B

Junior - 94 W currently (3.9):
-Pre-calculus (same level as PST) - Currently B+/A-, will definitely be an A- by the end of the year.
AP Chem - Currently B
Forensics (elective) - A+ (final)

Senior (will be taking):
- Honors Calculus
- Honors Physics
- AP Environmental

SAT I:
Cumulative: 1710
CR: 550
M: 640
W: 520

I am taking this and the ACT again and i have taken 2 practice tests and got a 1770 (CR - 510, M - 690, W - 570) and more recently 1830 (CR - 560, M - 720, W - 550)

I am going to apply to the following schools for chemical engineering as my top major:
-University of Connecticut
-Boston University
-Rutgers
-Drexel (my school has a partnership with them so I am almost guaranteed in)
-University of Deleware

Alright, so my questions:
- Am I significantly less likely to get into an engineering department due to my poor freshman and sophomore year? If so how much of a difference will it make?
- I had an okay junior year in slightly harder classes, will they understand that I have improved as a student and look upon that upward trend highly?
- Should I include anything in a personal statement about my struggles when applying?
- Am I likely to get into the schools I mentioned for engineering, assume I get about an 1800 SAT?

Thanks in advance.
