Hello all! This is not necessarily an MT question, but more of a general college question. However, my field of study is theatre so I figured I would ask here. Just out of curiosity, when colleges receive applications for transfers, how do they weigh the college credits earned versus the high school transcripts. I am asking mainly because I'm attending Rhode Island College's BA theatre program next year on full artistic scholarship, but will also be applying as a transfer to many MT colleges when application season rolls around again. Although I'm going to RIC on scholarship for my musical and acting talents, I nearly had to beg the school to admit me academically because my grades were pretty bad. Since they are a state school, and given my major along with the large scholarship, they admitted me. What I'm wondering is how my 4 years of lacking academically will compare to my one semester of strong grades in college classes. If you've made the deans list after your 1st semester, and have passed all of those classes, will colleges make exceptions for you seeing that you have matured? If there are any transfer kids out there with a prospective on this, I'd appreciate it. Also, any college professors that see this board (I know there are a couple of you) I would really appreciate your help too
