I emailed Dr. Richmond asking about those who have not been replied to yet. She says she still has about 100 applications out of the 290 received to review. Seems that she’s doing it a bit rolling-admissions style. I’m not sure how it would work out to ensure that there are spots for the amazing applicants at the bottom of the pile, but who knows but the people at MSU :P</p>

<p>Hey no one’s posted for a while, but I just got accepted this morning so I wanted to give some hope to people who haven’t heard anything yet 
also I’m from California (bay area) and someone speculated eariler that they were done accepting out-of-state students, but I guess that’s not true!</p>
<p>Here are my stats if you’re interested (they’re not so great, so maybe that’ll give you even more hope)
GPA: 3.8 uw, 4.31 w
PSAT: 226
SAT: 2260 (exact same break up as my PSAT too lol)
Research interest: Engineering
Went to COSMOS last summer, so I have a little research experience…
Recs: just okay…physics h, English 3 ap
Extracirriculars: robotics (board member and communications officer), co-president of live streaming club and audio/visual club, member of science and engineering club, research club, speech and debate, editor-in-chief of yearbook, member of natl honors society and California scholarship federation, done tons of backstage tech for school theatrical productions
My essays were good…so maybe that helped :P</p>

<p>@StudiousMaximus, have you heard yet? DS denied HSHSP last Wednesday. Physics is his area of focus. They probably send out acceptances/rejections in batches based on research area and available mentors. Also denied by Clark Scholars yesterday, RSI and Baylor earlier. Waitlisted again 2nd time for SSP. He will be doing Physics research at our local university.</p>

<p>Yeah I agree with you @DYSmom. They are trying to match students with mentors who have researches to do over the summer. I put on Physics too. Not notified yet. Wonder how many people are waiting for decisions.</p>
