High School- Improving college acceptance chances!

Hi, I'm a freshman in High School in North Carolina, I'm in an IB Programme. I know I have to get good grades and whatnot, but I wanted advice from all you college students out there. Is there anything else I can do to get into a good college, preferably Ivy League? I want to go into a medical field. And please, list specific things I can do to increase my chances of getting accepted! Thanks.

There are no specific things to do to get into highly selective colleges. Be yourself. If you have to go out of your way and be completely uncomfortable to try and get into a school, then that school is not where you should be going. Do what comes natural. Good grades, high SAT, leadership, passion, and other cliche things. If it has been done before, it might work again, or not. There is no formula, no set things for you to do, no Game of Life game board to follow. You should focus on moving towards college the way that fits you, and if you end up at a highly selective college, then that is where you belong. If not, then don’t panic and more importantly do not think that you are not going to be getting a worse education than others, because Ivy’s as it seems are just letters and words.
