-> Work Experience:

Haven't had time for a job yet, but I'm definately going to try for something this summer, possibly giving piano lessons.

Other than that, I'm an Asian Indian female. And I'm taking the SAT April 1st and am hoping to score in the 2000-2100 range (I got a 206 on my PSAT if if that matters). I Haven't taken the ACTs yet.

I'm interested in going into the Neuroscience/Psychology area.

Good matched: Ohio State University, Case Western Reserve
Reaches: NYU, Northwestern University, University of Chicago

I'd like to get into a decently selective school, so any suggestions on selective schools with good neuroscience/psych. departments that I have a good shot at are welcome =) Thanks for you time!

You've assessed your chances at the schools you've listed pretty acurately, though I'd call NYU match, if indeed you score around 2100 on your SATs.

The following schools would be matches also, based on a 2100 SAT. High matches are at the top of the list, low matches at the bottom.

Tufts
Washington and Lee
Emory
Vanderbilt
Notre Dame
Georgetown
Bowdoin
Haverford
Macalester
Davidson
Colby
Univer. Of Southern CA
Colgate
Brandeis
U of C Berkley
University of Virginia
William and Mary
Oberlin
Bates
Tulane
Hamilton
Grinnell
Bard
Wake Forest
Kenyon
Connecticut College
Boston College
University of Richmond
Univ. of Rochester
Lehigh
University of Michigan
Trinity
Bucknell

I'm not sure which schools have good neuropsych departments, though.

The C++ class would look really good, if you were planning to study Computer Science or something of that ilk. Maybe swtich it with something a little less... narrow. Although, if you're interested, go for it. But if you're planning on studying neuroscience, AP Psyche might look better (unless, of course, it's not offered).

Other than that, I don't know. I haven't done enough research to give you odds on the colleges you asked about.

NYU- likely/match
Northwestern- match/reach

Those are the two colleges I know about. Hope that helps you a little.

EDIT: Brown has a great neuroscience dept. Obviously, it's hard to get into (it's hard for everyone!) but it's something to keep in mind.

connecticut college has AMAZING psychology and neuroscience programs. the grad school placement rates in these areas is outstanding, and there are MANY opportunities for undergraduate research.
