Current college freshman, but here's the list I had:

--University of Chicago
--Johns Hopkins
--Tufts
--Northwestern
--Cornell
--Harvard
--Yale
--Princeton
--SUNY Binghamton

and here are some schools I wished I considered more carefully:
-- Berkeley
-- Bryn Mawr
-- Rice
-- Amherst

Make sure that you leave options open in your college list-- big and small, urban and rural, I had a friend who was SURE he would do best at a big urban sports school, now he's happy as can be at a small, rural, intellectual school.

Cornell, Penn, Amherst, Swarthmore, Williams, Stanford, U of Chicago, Bowdoin, Dartmouth, Johns Hopkins, USC, Colgate, Middlebury... it's still a long list, it needs to be cut to 10 at most

I have Knox and Beloit as safety.

Major: Economics or Finance (at Penn)

Cornell
UPenn
Northwestern
UChicago
JHU
CMU
UC Berkeley, LA, SD, and some other random ones probably
NYU

RPI

There's my 11 :) It might become 12 if I add Stanford. Who knows.

University of Miami
Indiana University
Loyola Marymount
UC Santa Barbara
Univ. of San Diego
San Diego State

And I'm also considering Pepperdine, Syracuse, Florida St, and Arizona St

Columbia
Harvard
Yale
Princeton
University of Florida (in state 100 percent scholarship)
George Washington University (near safety)
American University (near safety)
University of Pennsylvania
Dartmouth University (maybe)
2-3 other safeties, matches

I know it's a lot but i still have some narrowing down to do
Reaches:
Yale (legacy)
Brown (legacy)
Upenn (legacy kind of)
Dartmouth
Pomona
Amherst
and Harvard for the hell of it

Matches:
Northwestern

i wouldn't call any of those safeties, maybe matches but they just aren't safeties anymore lol

Wellesley
UChicago
Columbia
University of Washington
Whitman
Seattle U

Ohio State - Columbus
Florida State
Indiana University - Bloomington
Penn State
Michigan State

Figure decent big 10 states schools would be the best atmosphere and options for me, since they have decent programs for my major.

Rice
University of Southern California
University of Texas at Austin
Texas Christian University

Berkeley (high reach)
UF (reach)
FSU (match)
FIU (match)
Santa Fe (safety)
Miami-Dade (safety)
Umich (high reach)

UPenn(ED) reach
cal,ucla,usc,nyu,ucsd->slight reach~reach
uci,ucd,ucsb->match...
i dont think im applying to any safety schools...i might apply to ucsc

Rice University
Stanford University
Scripps College
Pitzer College
University of Washington
Evergreen State College

I need good matches, argh. All of these seem to be reaches except the in-state schools. I need good schools where I can get merit aid but I can't seem to find any I'm genuinely interested in. Argh. This list will probably change multiple times.

Trying to narrow it down to eight at most, so:

Brown University (reeeeally high reach, but it won't hurt to apply)
Mount Holyoke College (looove. <3)
[Vassar / Macalester / Bard]
Colby College
Cedar Crest College
Sweet Briar College
[University of Hartford / Western Connecticut State University]
[University of [Southern] Maine (Farmington / Machias)]

I still have some reshuffling to do; I was very interested in Barnard and the University of Arizona for a while.

UIUC, Wheaton, USC, UChicago, Yale, JHU, Georgetown, GWU, Wellesley + 2/3 LAC's. But I probably don't have the time to apply to all of those.

hahaha snake13 omg...buddy, i just want to advise u to get some actual safeties in there. its better someone tells u this now instead of you getting rejected from everywhere and losing hope. the schools you have in your safeties are incredibly incredibly amazing! this year all schools had a record number of applicants and many top schools didnt even take ppl of their list (harvard, yale, nyu etc etc). nyu gets the most number of applicants every year (like 35000 this year) and is the number one dream school in the country (princeton review) so really buddy, choose some actual safeties because truly, most of your 'safeties' are in any case above your 'matches' list and even above some in your 'reaches' list. NYU, Umich > pomona, amherst
