you HAVE to start liking high school. it is WAY WAY WAY too long for you to hate it this much as a freshman. I pretty much hate it but I'm a senior and it's still pretty bad. I can't fathom going through three more years after this. You need to change your attitude and look for better or transfer to somewhere else. You really can't have this absolute hatred for something you're going to endure for this long.

But my school completely sucks. It's a little prep school, and prep school means prep kids. At least at my school. Now, you must know, I HATE stereotypes and anyone who does it. So I'm not saying everyone's prep, BUT... if you saw someone walking down the sidewalk wearing all black and black eyeliner and white facepaint or whatever, you'd probably assume they're gothic, correct? So if you see someone wearing a little miniskirt and tanktop and three inches of makeup, you assume they're preppy. I don't like preps, gothics, or any other stereotype. That's the problem about high school. These little cliques and groups, they really tick me off that they can't just accept people how they are. PLUS, there's all these stupid rumors about me! People are saying I'm suicidal and throw up everything I eat and now I'm in trouble with my parents. I'm 1/8 through my high school career and I cannot stand it.

if you don't like high school, you can skip it. there are early entrance college things that you can do. i'm in one of those right now.
it's so great. college is pure freedom. you don't even need to attend classes; basically you can do whatever you want. and, to get into college early you need to be smart so now i don't have to deal with a bunch of mindess hairbrained idiots anymore.

i wish i thought like you. I had the opportunity to go to my state U (UW in washington state) after sophomore year but decided to stay because i thought that the high school experience was too important to skip.

how wrong i was...i would take that back go to to UW in a heartbeat. sad face =(

High school is only a few years of your life. It sucks; but it's not the end of the world.
Besides, I doubt that college will be any different. It's all the same.
But I don't care anyway, I have exaclty 3 more quarters left and I'll be done with High School forever!

if you guys don't like high school, then do something about it and graduate early.
otherwise, i suggest looking for all those other little fun things about high school. it's not just about getting good grades and going to the perfect college. when you look back on this experience, you're going to remember the times you spent having fun with your friends. there are so many things you can do outside the realm of stuff that absolutely needs to be done for college. this is your last real time to do stupid things. take advantage of it.

Sorry that you feel that way. I agree that I hate stereotypes as well and I believe that high school has a million different stereotypes and a myriad of different social inferiority complexes. I'm in no way saying that I like high school. I'm completely sick of it and if somebody gave me the option of Fast Forwarding to graduation right now I'd totally take it. All I know is that if I absolutely abhorred high school as much as I do now when I was a freshman I probably would be suicidal right about now. My reccomendation to you is get the hell out of that high school if you feel THAT strongly about it. I reccomend transferring ASAP, to somewhere, ANYWHERE else. I think you'd be surprised if you went to a high school that's a commute away how much you could reinvent yourself.

just because high school sucks (and I agree it does) doesn't mean that you should just quit. It really all depends on how far you are willing to go in it..

Well, I don't know about anybody else but things have gotten a lot better for me personally. :) That said, I'm definitely still playing on moving far away for college. Hope it's getting better for everyone else as well.

i am just dying to get to college. i love my friends but im just tired of it all. i had a breakdown in my counselors office the other day because i just cant deal with my friends or classmates anymore. its a tough time because everybody is stressing out about college..and thats not a very fun environment to be in. its just so frustrating because senior year is supposed to be a blast. its not awful and im doing some really awesome things but the people. man the people. high school students suuuck. [yes im one of them but at least i can admit it]. and i know there will be drama and stuff in college too but at least it will be new people. =).

It used to annoy me. now it doesn't bother me anymore.. I guess I've accepted that life is not perfect..

It's just that I'm sick of teachers treating me like criminals. This librarian threatened to take away my phone because we're not "allowed" to bring our cell phones to school.

And my guidance called home b/c I didn't go to school yesterday....

COME ON!! I'm a senior. I'm over 18. What makes them think I still LIVE at home?!

I am FED UP with these younger girls turning my school into a whore-house. This is not a fashion show. Those "prosti-TODs" need to put some clothes on.

haha I agree about that one...why is it that people find it neccisarry to wear less and less clothing? I mean...by the time i'm 80 the planet should be one big nudist colony.

I've heard freshman guys trying to mack the girls jokingly calling them "poophead" in an attempt to flirt. Enough said. Haha...but I think we all say we want to be done with HS and go to college alredy...however, I bet most of us will wish the complete opposite come graduation! I come from a small school...my class has 189 kids in it! Everyone knows everyone and their life story. It's going to be weird not being around the people I'm used to seeing and not being home. I just hope the parties are better! Aswell as the ladies of course...fellas do I get an Amen?

I don't get why people want to get as far away from their families as they can; saying that they yearn for independance and colleg life.
college is overrated and so is independance.
