Hey guys!
This past summer I’ve been living away from home in order to conduct research at Cal Poly under the Physics department. The research we’re conducting is completely original, with no previous applications in the real world. It is photovoltaic research and has the potential to create a seriously huge dent in the problem of deforestation. I’m the only high schooler in the department research program, and as such I had to cross a lot of barriers to get here. I want to take this research and present it at my county science fair and maybe write a Davidson Fellows research paper on it. The only concern I have is that this research was conducted in a group of three, me and two other college students. I’m perfectly capable of reconducting the research back at home but I don’t know if I’ll have the same level of equipment available to me as a lab. Is it still okay if I enter competitions and scholarships with the findings?
Side note: college students that aren’t getting paid are allowed to use summer research projects as senior thesis projects as well so I feel that that situation is similar to mine as I’m not getting paid
