If I were to get an internship over the summer with a petroleum engineering company, how good would it look on my college application? I am strongly considering applying to the petroleum engineering programs at Texas A&M and University of Texas at Austin and was wondering how much of a positive effect this would have on my chance of being accepted, if any. Getting an internship will not be difficult because I have very strong connections with multiple petroleum engineering companies. I am only curious to know how much it would boost my admission chances.
I think it would look good. It shows leadership, it’s experience, and its involved with your intended major. Go for it
Even if you decided to change your major it would still look good. It’s learning and working experience
Best of luck!
