Hello I am a freshman in high school and I am wondering what I can do to help my chances to get accepted to the US Naval Academy. I'm a very good student (all honors) I play football, wrestling, and lacrosse. I'm on student govt and I needs help to know what to do like what would be a good ACT/SAT score other activities that could help my chances or any advice any help will be greatly appreciated thank you.

I can help answer that as I
m a sophomore and am planning on applying. *Note: NOBODY can tell you if you
ll get in or not…it`s up to the admissions board and if you can get a nomination.
Make sure you get the best grades possible...take as many honors and AP classes you can, and take high science and math classes. Sports are good, Student government will work for leadership position, but join a club or two, something that interests you. Remember: Quality, not quantity. Try and also become captain of at least one of your sports teams. I`d also suggest that you volunteer too, because a lot of incoming Plebes have that on their resume.

While I can
t tell you exactly what will get you in, here
s the profile for the class of 2016: http://www.usna.edu/Admissions/documents/ClassPortrait.pdf

Also, apply for Boy
s State and the Academy
s Summer Seminar when you
re a junior. If your school ever has an Academy night where an Admissions representative comes, go to that. I
d also recommend reading this: [The Naval Academy Candidate Book: How to Prepare,How to Get In,How to Survive: Sue Ross: 9780979794315: Amazon.com: Books](http://www.amazon.com/The-Naval-Academy-Candidate-Book/dp/0979794315)

And also read USNA`s catalog: [United States Naval Academy | USNA Catalog](http://www.usna.edu/Catalog/)
For ACT/SAT scores....get as high as possible. At least a 600 on both SATs, preferably higher. At least a 27 or 29 on ACT. Again, as high as possible. Retake them multiple times if it`ll get you a higher score.

Also, when you take the CFA, max out if at all possible.

Well, that
s a brief overview of it. There
s actually service academy section on CC and if you have any specific questions, ask there, or PM me, and I
ll help you out. It
s actually ridiculous the amount of time I
ve spent researching about USNA…it
s my dream school.
